Job Description:

Department Overview:

The Commercial National Accounts (CNA) team provides dedicated relationship coverage to the larger commercial clients across all industry sectors including asset-based lending and conventional cash flow structures. This client base is primarily designated by size of credit facilities being larger than $25 million and/or annual sales being greater than $150 million and include syndicated and bi-lateral transactions.


The group consists of senior banking professionals who combine specific industry knowledge and extensive deal structuring experience to offer a full suite of customized credit and cash management and payment solutions to meet the complex needs of our clients.
 

Job Description:

The DTM is the subject matter expert who possesses a strong understanding of payment and cash management products as well as deposit options. You are responsible for ensuring the needs of new and existing clients are proactively identified, negotiated and implemented. Repricing opportunities are promptly identified and addressed. The DTM is also responsible for growing their deposit portfolio and the number of cash management products utilized.  The DTM works closely with the relationship management team on the acquisition of new clients and ensures they are adhering to the governing regulations, internal policies and procedures.

SHAREHOLDER

  • Grow Contribution to Profit (CTP) of the Portfolio
  • Meet or exceed annual sales, revenue, volume & new client objectives
  • Build new relationships and deepen existing client relationships by consistently following the Commercial Sales Methodology
  • Negotiate or assist Directors in identifying and negotiating deposit and current account activity pricing opportunities
  • Contribute to the acquisition of new business by conducting calls independently and jointly with Directors. Prepare proposals and make presentations as required
  • Lead account planning and relationship review activities to prioritize re-pricing and cross-sell opportunities
  • Actively refer to other business partners both within Business Banking and across TD and respond effectively to reciprocal referrals
  • Understand pricing models/concepts and maintain consistency with National Accounts goals
  • Champion exception pricing requests for deposit and cash management products and services
  • Ensure products and services are sold and operate in a compliant manner minimizing the regulatory compliance and operational risk to the Bank. Complete all compliance training and attestations within required timelines
  • Minimize credit and operational risks, ensure credit facilities are in place for cash management arrangements
  • Ensure all appropriate documentation is in place in advance of implementation of deposit and cash management products
  • Coach team members in assessing client requests to determine appropriate product and risk
  • Be knowledgeable of and comply with Bank and Industry Codes of Conduct
  • Understand the market and the industries within the portfolio to ensure value added service is provided to clients while mitigating risk to the Bank

CLIENT

  • Deliver and promote exceptional service at every interaction and execute plans to continuously improve client experience
  • Structure and package creative competitive deposit and cash management solutions to meet unique client needs
  • Use internal network to continually build specialized expertise to maximize client satisfaction
  • Ensure clients are knowledgeable and know how to use their cash management products effectively
  • Actively promote the brand within the community through participation in community business groups, initiatives, fundraisers, etc.
  • Support internal partners with ongoing projects and develop a clear understanding of how changes will affect a client's business
  • Responsible for documenting calling activities
  • “Deliver the Bank” by recommending, introducing and referring appropriate TDBG Business Partners and Products
  • Proactively look for opportunities to meet client evolving cash management needs

Job Requirements:

Education/Accreditation
Undergraduate business degree or related work experience
Certified Treasury Professional (CTP) designation would be an asset

Other Qualifications/Skills/Experience
5+ years Commercial Cash Management or banking experience
5+ years in Relationship Management experience in dealing with large accounts

Excellent knowledge of Bank's payments and cash management products and services
Effective selling and negotiation skills

Ability to travel domestically and having a vehicle is required

Due to the nature of the role and business needs there is a requirement for an in-office presence

Bilingual (English and French is an asset)
