About College Board

College Board is a mission-driven, not-for-profit organization that aims to clear a path for all students to own their futures. We focus on expanding access to higher education and helping students develop the skills they need for college and career readiness. We serve 7 million students annually– a reach unparalleled in a fragmented sector.

At a moment when AI is transforming education and work, College Board is investing in work-based learning as a critical pathway for students to build durable skills— collaboration, communication, and problem solving— that technology cannot replace.

College Board acquired District C and its flagship program, Teamship, its first programmatic acquisition in over 20 years (learn more here). This acquisition reflects College Board’s commitment to exploring bold ideas that bridge K–12, higher education, and career, complementing time-tested programs like AP and SAT.

We are building a team to scale the Teamship program so more students have access to high-quality work-based learning.

About Teamship

Teamship is a work-based learning program where teams of students solve real problems for real businesses. Teamship provides a high-impact reimagined internship experience that builds the durable skills students need, employers value, and that power today's economy. Key offerings of the program:

  • Hands-on learning with employers and experiences that build the skills technology can’t replace

  • World-class professional learning to support educators

  • Employer partnership model that makes it simpler to engage with high schools

  • Better access for more students with program delivery through schools

To learn more, listen to an interview with the Co-founder and Teamship team leader, Dan Gonzalez, on The Education Equation podcast with College Board President, Jeremy Singer (recorded before the acquisition).

About the Opportunity

As Director, Teamship District Partnerships, you will lead the charge to bring Teamship to students across your region. You will operate with significant ownership, managing district and school partnerships across a defined U.S. region and set of priority focus states. You will oversee the full lifecycle from prospecting to renewal and expansion.

This is not a transactional sales role. Teamship is redefining how districts deliver high-quality work-based learning at scale. You will build markets, shape state strategy, and partner directly with district leaders to reimagine how students experience career-connected learning. You will develop pipelines from the ground up, craft compelling value propositions, and help districts solve real implementation challenges.

You will be responsible for generating new sales, onboarding new partners, strengthening retention, and expanding impact year over year. Success in this role means more students gaining access to Teamship and developing durable skills that will shape their futures.

If you are motivated by ambitious goals, energized by collaboration, and inspired by the opportunity to drive measurable student impact, this role offers both scope and purpose.

In this role, you will:

Drive Sales and Expansion (60%)

  • Lead Teamship’s growth strategy for your selected target states, operating with full ownership of market development, pipeline health, and revenue outcomes.

  • Manage inbound Teamship interest from your region.

  • Partner across teams to develop a strategic Teamship growth playbook for focus states.

  • Coordinate with College Board external-facing roles for the state and region to that customer experience is “One College Board”

  • Identify and secure new district and school partnerships to expand Teamship adoption

  • Manage and grow a healthy sales pipeline using Salesforce.

  • Lead high-stakes discovery conversations with district decision-makers, positioning Teamship as a strategic solution aligned to district priorities, funding streams, and work-based learning goals.

  • Tailor templates (proposals, info documents, and slides) to partners' specific context and needs to enable sales

  • Facilitate info sessions for decision-makers and teachers to convert prospects from interest to sale.

  • Coordinate with Legal, Finance, and Invoicing teams to create and finalize contracts.

  • Drive toward ambitious pipeline targets that directly translate into student impact at scale and assigned revenue targets

  • Travel up to 30% for conferences, district meetings, and partner engagements.

Lead Engagement & Retention (40%)

  • Serve as the executive relationship lead for Teamship district partners, building long-term trust with senior leaders and influencing multi-year adoption decisions.

  • Lead structured partnership reviews that align on impact data, expansion opportunities, and long-term renewal strategy.

  • Proactively uncover and advance expansion pathways within existing districts to increase student reach and deepen implementation.

  • Partner cross-functionally across internal Programs, Business Partnerships, Product, and State teams to ensure high-quality implementation.

  • Anticipate renewal risks early and take decisive action to protect and expand long-term partnerships.

  • Maintain accurate partnership documentation and next steps in CRM.

About You

  • 5-10 years of experience in school district leadership or educational sales

  • Demonstrated credibility within Career and Technical Education (CTE), work-based learning, or district-level partnership ecosystems, preferably within one of the priority states listed above.

  • Established relationships with district leaders, CTE directors, workforce development leaders, or similar stakeholders strongly preferred.

  • Deep belief that all students deserve access to real-world learning experiences and skill development that prepare them for an AI and automation-enabled workforce

  • A track record of influencing senior district leaders

  • Comfort operating in ambiguity and helping shape strategy, not just execute it

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate complex ideas into compelling, district-aligned value propositions

  • Detail-oriented and disciplined in tailoring proposals, contracts, and follow-through

  • Willingness to travel up to 30 percent for conferences, on-site partner meetings, and College Board meetings

  • Preferred: Experience building and managing a disciplined sales pipeline from prospecting through renewal

  • Preferred: Experience in Career and Technical Education (CTE) and/or work-based learning (WBL)

All roles at College Board require:

  • A passion for expanding educational and career opportunities and mission-driven work

  • Curiosity and enthusiasm for emerging technologies, with a willingness to experiment with and adopt new AI-driven solutions and comfort with learning and applying new digital tools independently and proactively.

  • Clear and concise communication skills, written and verbal

  • A learner's mindset and a commitment to growth: welcoming diverse perspectives, giving and receiving timely, respectful feedback, and continuously improving through iterative learning and user input.

  • A drive for impact and excellence: solving complex problems, making data-informed decisions, prioritizing what matters most, and continuously improving through learning, user input, and external benchmarking.

  • A collaborative and empathetic approach: working across differences, fostering trust, and contributing to a culture of shared success

  • Authorization to work in the United States
