Job Description:
As the Director, Strategy and Transformation Business Partner (STBP), you play a pivotal role in providing an unbiased and holistic view of digital & non-digital key initiatives to inform and orchestrate business strategy.
You partner closely with members of the Canadian Operations Leadership Team (COLT) to build and maintain a thorough understanding of the business objectives and what initiatives are necessary to drive key results.
What will you do?
The STBP team is responsible for guiding and aligning Canadian Operations' strategic planning, prioritization, and positioning of key initiatives to achieve strategic goals.
Facilitate the Ops VP strategy cycle, and make recommendations on strategic plans, OKRs and roadmap of Key Initiatives to ensure focus on the right priorities.
Ensure prioritized initiatives are setup for successful execution.
Provide guidance on Key Initiatives during execution to ensure strong strategic alignment and continued momentum.
Consistently recommend decisions and initiative trade-offs aligned with Canadian Operations' long-term strategy, balancing current needs and future ambitions.
Engage partners across Canada, influencing decisions with key insights, formal recommendations, and strategic guidance.
How will you take Ownership?
Ensure access and visibility of COLT OKRs. Provide strategic insights to ensure alignment between BUs & Cdn Ops.
Ensure senior leadership teams align to the strategy planning cycle. Support development of strategies, OKRs and execution plans aligned to Cdn Ops strategy.
Create frameworks and lead planning / prioritization sessions to bring leaders from strategy to execution. Drive partnerships to achieve shared objectives.
Spearhead AVP+ meetings to understand challenges and frame problems for solutioning, including productivity & efficiency concerns.
Ensure a holistic view on initiatives, collaborating with Business Leaders (AVP+), for strategic optimization.
Partner with Business Architecture, Platform Owners, Tech Leads, Data Science, Analytics, OLP, and Automation for effective business delivery.
Coordinate with the Cdn Ops Agile Portfolio Management (APM), actively contributing to strategic problem-solving discussions.
Support Service Optimization Chapter members in discovery, root cause analysis, and solution design to address business problems.
What do you need to succeed?
Leadership & Strategy Experience
Extensive experience facilitating strategic discussions/strategy development, and/or aligning business strategy holistically.
Significant leadership experience with a deep understanding of insurance and/or wealth processes.
Successful history of driving business optimization at a strategic level.
Communication & Collaboration
Strong communication and collaboration skills, with experience supporting senior leadership teams
Ability to lead and participate in strategic forums, sustaining momentum for ongoing engagement with partners & leaders.
Proven track record of successful collaboration to deliver project/program implementation.
Strong relationship management skills across broad range of stakeholder groups
Ability to empathize with various stakeholder perspectives, contributing to a holistic decision-making process.
Strong presentation skills, creating clear and compelling presentations or analyses to support decision-making.
Analytical & Problem-Solving
Proven ability to think strategically and provide practical solutions aligned with broader business objectives.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
Prior success in leading or analyzing complex business evaluations, demonstrating analytical understanding.

The Base Pay range is for the primary location for which the job is posted. It may vary depending on the work location of the successful candidate or other factors.
