The Role

As Director, Store Design & Visual Merchandising for NA Retail UGG, you will develop, lead, and execute the North American marketplace visual experience strategy. Your focus will be on driving brand positioning through lifestyle merchandising and storytelling, ensuring consistent brand expression across the retail fleet in alignment with global priorities. You’ll lead a high-performing team, manage a significant budget, and shape the future of UGG’s retail presence to elevate the consumer experience.

Your Impact

  • Architect and lead the North American UGG marketplace visual experience strategy for premium brand presentation and consumer loyalty
  • Refine the "World of UGG" narrative across all physical touchpoints, balancing heritage icons with emerging fashion silhouettes
  • Orchestrate collaboration between Field Leadership, Merchandising, Marketing, and Global Brand Experience for campaign and product launch alignment
  • Protect the "Icon" business while accelerating visual storytelling for apparel, accessories, and new footwear categories
  • Leverage sell-through data and traffic patterns to optimize floor sets for maximum conversion and UPT
  • Synthesize marketplace feedback into actionable insights, evolving visual strategy to meet fashion consumer demands
  • Lead visual conceptualization for new store openings and renovations, translating the UGG "feel" into premium environments
  • Mastermind scalable visual solutions as the retail footprint expands across North America
  • Define and codify world-class visual standards, delivering toolkits and directives for flawless execution
  • Mentor field teams and retail partners to elevate styling and merchandising excellence
  • Partner with Merchandising and Allocation to align visual presentations with localized assortment plans
  • Champion sensory-driven retail innovation, utilizing materials, lighting, and technology to bring the brand promise to life
  • Lead and inspire a diverse, high-performing team, maintaining fiscal accountability for departmental budgets

Who You Are

  • Bachelor’s degree in Visual Merchandising, Marketing, Retail Management, or related field, or equivalent experience
  • 10+ years of proven experience in visual merchandising, preferably in retail or fashion, with at least 5 years in a leadership role
  • Experience working with global or regional brands and adapting global visual strategies to specific markets
  • Experience with new store openings, pop-up stores, and special events involving hands-on merchandising
  • Strong background in in-store execution and management, understanding how visual displays influence customer behavior and sales
  • Demonstrated success in managing large-scale visual merchandising projects
  • Expertise in creative visual direction, team development, and commercial/consumer engagement
  • Strong design and product mapping expertise and project management skills
  • Ability to leverage consumer insights, retail data, and industry trends to inform strategy
  • Strategic thinking and execution, leadership and development, strong communication, project management, customer-centric focus, creative and aesthetic sensibility, analytical and results-driven, adaptability, cross-functional collaboration, and attention to detail

$175,000 - $185,000

The salary range posted reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for this role in our Goleta, CA location. Individual pay will be determined by location and additional factors, including job related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
