Job Summary
The Director of Events is responsible for planning and executing impactful events and experiential marketing initiatives for Sports Illustrated Resorts. This role ensures alignment with brand objectives and supports sales goals through immersive experiences that enhance customer engagement. The Director oversees event logistics, manages budgets, and collaborates with internal teams and partners to deliver high-quality activations and measurable results.
How You'll Shine
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Brand-Building Through Experience (30%)
- Execute the development and delivery of signature events and activations that showcase the Sports Illustrated Resorts brand through sports, culture, music, and lifestyle programming.
- Ensure events create immersive experiences that drive awareness, customer acquisition, and owner/member engagement.
Strategic Planning & Execution (25%)
- Implement regional and national event plans aligned with sales goals and resort development timelines.
- Oversee event logistics, vendor coordination, performance tracking, and customer experience for major activations.
Partnership Coordination (15%)
- Support VP/SVP in maintaining and expanding strategic partnerships through collaborative event initiatives.
- Assist in identifying new opportunities for joint marketing and brand integrations to enhance visibility and growth.
Cross-Brand Collaboration (10%)
- Work with internal teams across Travel + Leisure Co. brands to support experiential marketing initiatives that strengthen owner/member loyalty.
- Contribute to cross-brand event opportunities that increase customer engagement and lifetime value.
Leadership & Operational Excellence (20%)
- Manage and develop a high-performing event marketing team focused on creativity, innovation, and flawless execution.
- Oversee budgeting, vendor relationships, and performance analytics to ensure ROI-positive outcomes.
Travel Requirements
- Frequent travel to event locations, partner meetings, and resort sites, averaging 30–40% of the time.
- Travel intensity may vary by month and can exceed the average during peak event periods or major activations.
- Must be able to accommodate extended stays and flexible scheduling based on business needs.
What You'll Bring
Education
- Bachelor’s degree required in Marketing, Business Administration, Hospitality Management, or a related field.
- Master’s degree preferred (MBA or similar) for candidates with extensive experience in event strategy and leadership.
- Equivalent experience may be considered in lieu of formal education
Job experience
- 2+ years of progressive experience in event marketing, experiential activations, or related fields within hospitality, sports, or entertainment industries.
- 3+ years in a leadership role managing event operations, budgets, and cross-functional teams.
- Proven track record of executing large-scale events and delivering measurable ROI.
- Experience in partnership development and vendor management.
- Familiarity with multi-brand collaboration and enterprise-level marketing initiatives preferred.
