Your New Role

The Sports Digital Director reports to the Senior Director of Sports Marketing and leads the regional (LATAM) digital strategy for Sports brands. Is responsible for defining and driving the strategies that enable sustained growth across digital platforms for sports business units in Latin America.

This role owns the strategic vision for digital ecosystems across Owned and Operated (O&O) and earned media environments, ensuring that editorial initiatives, platform capabilities, partnerships, and PR-led digital moments translate into measurable brand and business impact at a regional level. The position operates as a central strategic connector between Brand Marketing, Editorial, Growth, Social Media, Sports PR, Media Planning, and HBO Max digital teams and partners across LATAM.

Your Role Accountabilities

  • Leads the definition and execution of the regional (LATAM) digital growth strategy for Sports brands across Owned and Operated (O&O) and earned digital platforms.
  • Establishes clear strategic frameworks for digital editorial, PR-driven digital moments, and platform initiatives, aligned with brand objectives, audience behaviors, and business priorities across LATAM markets.
  • Acts as the regional point of contact for digital platforms, building strategic relationships and identifying opportunities for growth, innovation, and partnerships.
  • Owns the regional governance of digital platforms, including monetization frameworks, Content ID strategy, rights protection, and compliance with platform policies.
  • Defines and implements regional measurement frameworks that connect digital marketing KPIs (reach, engagement, views, frequency) with business KPIs (gross adds, assisted acquisition, churn, retention).
  • Drives alignment between Brand Marketing, Editorial, Social Media, Sports PR, and Growth teams to ensure digital initiatives contribute to subscriber growth, engagement, and lifecycle performance.
  • Partners with Growth and Performance teams to translate regional digital signals into actionable insights that improve acquisition efficiency and long-term value.
  • Ensures consistent regional brand identity, tone, and visual expression across all digital platforms in collaboration with Brand Marketing teams.
  • Provides regional strategic guidance to local Sports teams on digital initiatives and their implementation across markets.
  • Leads the regional strategy for creator, influencer, earned media, and PR-amplified initiatives, ensuring scalability, brand safety, and business impact.
  • Identifies emerging digital trends, platforms, formats, and best practices, translating innovation into actionable regional strategies for editorial, PR, and marketing teams.
  • Works in close collaboration with HBO Max digital leadership to ensure cross-brand and cross-region consistency, shared standards, and platform synergies.
  • Defines regional and market-level digital KPIs, setting performance targets and driving continuous optimization to support business growth.

    Qualifications & Experience
    • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Digital Media, Communications, Business, or a related field.
    • 10+ years of experience in digital strategy, platform leadership, or digital growth roles; experience in sports, media, or entertainment strongly preferred.
    • Deep understanding of digital platforms, Owned and Operated (O&O) ecosystems, creator economies, and monetization models.
    • Proven experience defining regional strategies that drive growth and measurable business impact across digital platforms.
    • Strong background in organic and earned media ecosystems across major digital platforms.
    • Experience leading regional initiatives and influencing multi-market teams in matrixed organizations.
    • Strong strategic, analytical, and stakeholder management skills.
    • Fluency in English and Spanish required; Portuguese is a plus.
