As Director, Site Controller – New York, you will provide financial leadership and oversight for Micron’s front‑end wafer fabrication facility in Clay, New York. This role is accountable for site‑level financial planning, cost management, capital governance, and financial controls, while serving as the primary finance partner to the Site Vice President and Site Leadership Team (SLT).

The New York site is a greenfield facility in the early stages of construction. You will be responsible for hiring, training, managing, and leading the New York site operations finance team. You will collaborate closely with other front-end site controllers and operational stakeholders to implement Micron’s standardized finance systems, processes, and procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the site Finance organization, delivering financial planning, forecasting, scenario analysis, product costing, and performance reporting.
  • Serve as a key member of the site leadership team, providing objective financial insight and decision support to drive value creation.
  • Partner with site and corporate leadership to develop, evaluate, and optimize site operating and capital plans.
  • Apply rigorous ROI, NPV, payback, and sensitivity analysis to capital investments and major initiatives.
  • Drive cost‑reduction and productivity initiatives across site manufacturing and support functions to achieve competitive cost performance.
  • Provide financial oversight and control of site operations, ensuring compliance with Micron policies, internal controls, and external requirements.
  • Collaborate with Corporate and Global Front‑End Finance teams to integrate financial processes, systems, and reporting.
  • Build, develop, and retain a high‑performing site finance team through coaching, mentoring, and leadership development.
  • Develop and mentor a high-performing finance team, fostering leadership, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
  • Generate and report entity-level financial statements and other financial data as required by government incentives.
  • Actively find opportunities for operational improvements, including the exploration and adoption of AI tools, automation, and emerging technologies to enhance financial workflows.
  • Actively seek to leverage AI-assisted solutions to streamline repetitive tasks, improve data accuracy, and accelerate reporting cycles.
  • Stay current with AI and technology trends relevant to Finance and proactively propose use cases for the team.

Qualifications

Required

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Engineering, or other technical or quantitative discipline. or related field
  • 15+ years of progressive experience in finance, manufacturing, operations, or capital‑intensive environments.
  • 5+ years of leadership experience, including managing cross-functional or global teams.
  • For candidates with engineering or technical degrees: demonstrated, hands‑on experience in financial analysis, business case development, cost modeling, and capital investment evaluation.
  • Strong expertise in financial analysis, product costing, ROI analysis, and decision support for senior leadership.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence executives and operate effectively in a complex, global, matrixed organization.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Experience with SAP, iECS, SAC-P, or other enterprise financial systems.
  • Willingness and ability to travel domestically and internationally, including Asia.

Preferred

  • MBA or advanced degree in finance, business, or management.
  • Semiconductor manufacturing experience; front‑end wafer fab experience strongly preferred.
  • Experience supporting large‑scale capital programs, factory startups, or greenfield site development.
  • Memory industry experience.

The US base salary range that Micron Technology estimates it could pay for this full-time position is:

$157,000.00 - $275,000.00 a year

Additional compensation may include benefits, bonuses and equity.
Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target base pay for new hire salaries of the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional job-related factors, including knowledge, skills, experience, tenure and relevant education or training.
