Summary
The Director of Security & Guest Experience is responsible for directing, managing, supervising and coordinating the activities and operations of the Security Department and event staffing program for the facility; establishes and maintains relationships with local, state and federal law enforcement and life safety units.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Include the following. Other duties may be assigned
- Provide overall management for all services and activities involved in facility and event security, facility admissions, and emergency preparedness, using independent judgment and personal initiative
- Plan, develop and implement programs to ensure the security of facility staff, property and attendees
- Evaluate the efficiency and effectiveness of service delivery methods and procedures; identify opportunities for improvements and review with management; implement improvements
- Direct, train, motivate and evaluate security staff and event staff; provide or coordinate staff training; work with employees to correct deficiencies; implement discipline and termination procedures
- Plan, direct, coordinate, and review the work plan for the Security Department and all other assigned programs and functions
- Lead event security briefings with internal stakeholders and public safety
- Assist the Event Managers in the development of event specific security and staffing plans
- Develop event budgets for security, police and EMT’s
- Purchasing/Ordering security related goods and services and approval of invoices for payment
- Coordinate the scheduling of external event staffing personnel including, but not limited to, off duty police officers, EMT’s, peer group security as needed
- Manage and participate in the development and administration of the Security Department annual budget; forecast additional funds needed for staffing, training, equipment, materials, and supplies; monitor expenditures; implement adjustments as necessary
- Work with Safety Act facilitator to maintain highest standard with DHS.
- Provide effective direction to staff in emergency response situations and manage facility EAP with regular updates and exercises
- Maintain the facility’s computerized life safety and security systems, including fire, security camera and access control
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships with local, state and Federal law enforcement and life safety agencies
- Conduct a variety of industry operational studies; recommend modifications to security and safety programs, policies, and procedures as appropriate
- Interpret and apply Federal, State and local policies, procedures, laws and regulations.
- Communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing.
- Develop staffing plans for NFL and NCAA events, interfacing with the prime stakeholders and maintaining industry standards and practices.
- Work with Stadium stakeholders to maintain high levels of NFL Audits (Game Day, Admin, QAT)
- Expected travel to NFL meetings, industry conferences and other events.
- On-call 24/7, as needed and based on stadium activities
- Performs all other duties and responsibilities, as assigned
Supervisory Responsibilities
- Manages subordinate employees in the Guest Experience & Tours Department.
- Responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of these units

Education and/or Experience
- Must possess current working knowledge of operational characteristics, services and activities of public facility security and safety programs; crowd management and control techniques; principles of municipal budget preparation and control; pertinent Federal, State, and local laws, codes and regulations.
- Five (5) years of increasingly responsible security experience in a NFL facility.
- Bachelor’s degree from four-year college or university; and three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination and experience
- Prior management experience, including the ability to direct, train, motivate and evaluate security staff and event staff
- Must be able to provide effective direction to staff in emergency response situations
- Knowledge of implementing NFL Best Practice & Fan Code of Conduct
- Certification in NIMS 100/200, 300/400, & 700/800
Skills and Abilities
- Demonstrate knowledge in security procedures, facility capabilities, industry terminology, event-related services and technical requirements for the types of events anticipated at the facility
- Excellent communications skills (written and verbal) required
- Ability to discern security threats based on information received from law enforcement agencies and determine
- Operate a personal computer using Windows and Microsoft Office software
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook
- Operate portable radio and standard office equipment including copier and fax machine.
- Follow oral and written instructions and communicate effectively with other in both oral and written form
- Organize and prioritize work to meet deadlines
- Work effectively under pressure and/or stringent schedule and produce accurate results
- Maintain an effective working relationship with clients, employees, patrons and others encountered in the course of employment
- Be licensed and insured to operate a motor vehicle in the United States
- Remain flexible and adjust to situations as they occur
- Work a flexible schedule including early mornings, days, evenings, overnight, weekends, holidays, extended (long) work days and extended numbers of days
Computer Skills
To perform this job successfully, the individual should have strong computer skills.
