Role Overview

The Director, Sales Consultants is a senior global leader responsible for building, developing, and leading the Sales Consultant organization. This role drives technical sales excellence, strengthens value-based selling capabilities, and partners across Sales, Enablement, and Solutions teams to increase win rates and revenue growth.

This person will serve as the functional and technical subject matter expert on Aven’s Hospitality products and ensures strong solution positioning across new prospects and renewals worldwide.

Key Responsibilities

Leadership & Talent Development

  • Lead, coach, and develop a global team of 8–12 Sales Consultants.
  • Elevate technical expertise and consultative selling capabilities across the team.
  • Recruit and onboard new Sales Consultant talent as needed.
  • Establish consistent global standards for pre-sales engagement and execution.

Strategic Sales Leadership

  • Partner with the Global Head of Sales and Regional Commercial Leads on strategic positioning for new business and renewals.
  • Develop and execute strategies to improve close ratios and competitive win rates.
  • Guide complex deal strategy, discovery, and solution positioning.

Technical & Solution Expertise

  • Serve as the subject matter expert on Aven’s Hospitality products, capabilities, and requirements.
  • Maintain strong knowledge of industry trends, standards, and emerging technologies.
  • Partner with Solution Engineers and Solution Architects to craft innovative, value-driven solutions for complex opportunities.

Sales Cycle Execution

  • Partner closely with Sales Directors (SDs) and Account Managers (AMs) throughout the sales cycle.
  • Lead discovery to uncover client needs, business objectives, functional requirements, and value drivers.
  • Deliver tailored presentations, product demonstrations, and proofs of concept.
  • Own and elevate RFP responses and technical documentation to ensure accuracy, clarity, and compelling positioning.

Sales Enablement & Methodology

  • Collaborate with Sales Enablement to continuously refine customer-facing strategy.
  • Drive global adoption of value-based selling methodologies and best practices.

Skills & Experience

  • Senior sales leadership experience within hospitality technology or enterprise SaaS.
  • Deep technical and functional understanding of hospitality solutions.
  • Strong strategic thinking and complex deal management capabilities.
  • Expertise in value-based and consultative selling methodologies.
  • Proven ability to lead, scale, and develop high-performing global teams.
  • Excellent executive presence and communication skills.
  • Experience leading RFP strategy and technical documentation processes.
  • Strong cross-functional collaboration skills across Sales, Enablement, Product, and Solutions teams.

Measures of Success

  • Improve global close rates and competitive win ratios.
  • Increased revenue contribution from complex and strategic deals.
  • Drive measurable improvement in Sales Consultant technical capability and effectiveness.
  • Enable high-quality, differentiated RFP responses and solution positioning.
  • Produce strong adoption of value-based selling methodologies globally.
  • Successful hiring, onboarding, and retention of top Sales Consultant talent.

What We’re Looking For

  • 10+ years of experience in enterprise SaaS or hospitality technology sales.
  • Proven leadership experience managing pre-sales, sales engineering, or consulting teams.
  • Strong technical acumen with the ability to translate complex capabilities into business value.
  • Demonstrated success improving win rates and leading complex, strategic deals.
  • Deep understanding of consultative and value-based selling approaches.
  • Exceptional communication and executive presence.
  • Experience working cross-functionally in global organizations.
