Director, Products and Solutions, Digital Platform and Partnerships SEA

Overview
The Director, SEA Digital Partnerships will support Mastercard’s growth ambitions in the digital economy by identifying, developing, and managing strategic partnerships with leading and emerging digital players across Southeast Asia - including e-commerce platforms, digital and neo-banks, fintechs, super-apps, and other internet-based businesses.

Reporting to the Vice President, this role will be responsible for executing Mastercard’s digital partnership strategy, driving market-level commercialization, and enabling Mastercard’s multi-rail capabilities across SEA. The Director will collaborate closely with country teams, product specialists, and functional leaders to deliver scalable, data-driven, customer-focused solutions.

This role requires a strong mix of strategic thinking, commercial execution, and relationship management, with a proven ability to operationalize complex partnerships across multi-market environments.

Key Responsibilities
1. Business Development & Partnership Execution
• Execute Mastercard’s regional digital partnerships strategy across SEA markets, aligned with the broader CSC objectives.
• Identify, evaluate, and pursue partnership opportunities with key digital players, fintechs, e-commerce platforms, and ecosystem enablers.
• Lead the structuring, negotiation, and execution of partnership agreements, ensuring commercial and operational alignment with Mastercard objectives.
• Build and manage a strong opportunity pipeline, ensuring effective prioritization and timely progression from prospecting to deal closure.
• Develop robust business cases and financial models to support partnership initiatives, demonstrating tangible growth outcomes.
2. Partner Relationship Management
• Serve as the key relationship owner for a portfolio of digital partners across SEA, ensuring Mastercard remains a strategic collaborator and trusted advisor.
• Deepen existing partnerships with leading digital platforms by co-developing and scaling joint solutions leveraging Mastercard’s product suite (e.g., payments, data, risk, loyalty, cyber, and open banking).
• Coordinate across Mastercard’s internal product, delivery, and marketing teams to design, bundle, and implement customer-centric solutions.
• Monitor partnership performance, track agreed KPIs, and ensure consistent delivery on commitments from both Mastercard and partners.
3. Market Enablement & Cross-Functional Collaboration
• Work with country business leads and CSC solution architects to translate regional strategies into market-specific execution plans.
• Support the launch and scaling of new digital payment flows (e.g., real-time payments, digital wallets, QR, and account-to-account solutions).
• Collaborate with Product, Legal, Risk, Finance, and Communications teams to ensure compliant and efficient deal execution.
• Contribute to Mastercard’s advocacy and collaboration efforts with regulators and industry bodies on key digital ecosystem topics.
4. Insight & Strategic Support
• Continuously assess market dynamics, competitor moves, and technology trends to identify new partnership opportunities.
• Support the Vice President in developing SEA digital ecosystem insights, business plans, and executive reporting.
• Represent Mastercard at selected digital industry events, forums, and partner workshops to enhance Mastercard’s visibility and leadership position in the region.
5. Leadership & Team Development
• Provide mentorship and guidance to junior team members or local partnership leads within the region.
• Contribute to a high-performance, collaborative culture within the Digital Partnerships team and the broader CSC.

All About You

Professional Background
• 10–12 years of experience in business development, strategic partnerships, or account management within payments, fintech, or technology industries.
• Strong understanding of digital ecosystems, including e-commerce, wallets, digital banking, and fintech business models in SEA.
• Proven track record of executing complex partnership deals and managing multi-stakeholder relationships.
• Experience in a regional role with exposure to multiple SEA markets preferred.
• Prior experience within Mastercard, another global payment network, or a fast-scaling fintech is advantageous.

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance; MBA or equivalent advanced degree preferred.
