What is the opportunity?
This role is responsible for the pricing of the individual non-participating life, living benefits and wealth lines of business, which includes Term, Non-Par Permanent Life, Disability Insurance, Critical Illness, Long Term Care, Segregated Fund and Payout Annuity products. This role supports revenue enhancement and prudent NIAT growth. The Director, Pricing Management Support, will assist in driving our strategic objectives forward in an effort to significantly enhance both the recognition and value of the RBC Insurance brand.
What will you do?
•Pricing and development of RBC Insurance’s Individual Life products in accordance with Pricing and Risk Management corporate policies
•Support business strategy to build solid competitive advantages and introduce new product features or modify existing product features
•Provide ongoing monitoring, quarterly review and reporting to ensure sound understanding and management of product pricing
•Recommend strategic business actions based on actuarial profitability analyses
•Evaluate and maintain the profitability metrics through actuarial thought leadership, research and robust quantitative analyses
•Support and collaborate with internal business partners including product management, product development, corporate underwriting, finance, valuation and operations
What will you need to succeed?
•7+ years of experience within the life insurance industry (including direct companies, reinsurer, and consulting firms)
•Bachelor’s degree in Actuarial Science, Math, Statistics or Science. Fellow of the Society of Actuaries and/or Fellow of the Canadian Institute of Actuaries.
•Leadership skills to engage team
•Excellent organization skills to manage multiple priorities and drive outcome
•Strong communication skills and collaboration skills to engage with various business partners across the organization
•Strong analytical and technical skills to build the foundation for carrying out accountabilities
•Knowledge of life insurer’s standard of practice, reserving principle, product design and administration, pricing framework, capital regime, and regulatory compliance guidelines.

Compensation for this position (including salary and discretionary/variable payments) will be determined by factors, including but not limited to candidate's experience, skills, registration status, performance, individual goals, market conditions, and business needs.
Pay Range
The expected pay range for this position is:
$110,000.00 - $160,000.00The pay range provided is for the primary work location referenced in the Additional Job Details section of this job posting. Pay ranges may differ based on location. If the posting lists multiple job locations, a recruiter can confirm availability of the role and the relevant pay rage for the additional locations listed.
