What You’ll Be Doing

As a Power Sales Director within the Corporate Solutions Group, Global Markets, you'll play a pivotal role in shaping CIBC's presence in the power sector. You'll serve as the primary contact for clients, cultivating and maintaining senior-level relationships with key stakeholders. Your expertise in power derivatives will enable you to originate and execute complex transactions, delivering tailored solutions that meet client needs. You'll leverage your deep knowledge of North American physical and financial power markets to provide valuable insights and drive growth. Collaborating closely with colleagues and stakeholders, you'll thrive in high-pressure environments and ensure seamless deal execution. Your ability to communicate and present complex concepts clearly will be essential in translating strategies into actionable steps for clients and internal teams.

How You’ll Succeed

  • Client Relationship Management - Build and maintain senior-level relationships with key stakeholders in the power sector, acting as the primary contact for clients.

  • Strategic Growth & Marketing - Develop and execute marketing and growth strategies to expand CIBC’s footprint within the power sector.

  • Transaction Execution - Originate and execute power derivatives transactions, ensuring best-in-class coverage and solutions for clients.

  • Market Expertise - Provide deep insights and analysis on North American physical and financial power markets, leveraging your product expertise to add value.

  • Collaboration & Teamwork - Partner effectively with colleagues and stakeholders throughout the deal process, thriving under pressure and tight deadlines.

  • Communication & Presentation - Translate complex deal concepts into clear, actionable steps for clients and internal teams, utilizing strong oral and written communication skills.

Who You Are

  • You have extensive experience and expertise. You bring 5+ years of experience and deep product knowledge in power derivatives, with a proven track record of executing transactions with skill and urgency.

  • You're a relationship builder. You have established senior relationships within the power community, including key players and stakeholders active in the sector.

  • You possess strong analytical and negotiation skills. You're fluent in the legal documentation, modeling, and negotiation processes associated with power transactions, and you have excellent analytical abilities.

  • You're knowledgeable about the market. You have a solid understanding of North American physical and financial power markets.

  • You're a collaborative team player. You work well under pressure and tight deadlines, partnering effectively with colleagues and stakeholders to bring deals to execution.

  • You're an effective communicator. You have strong oral and written communication skills, including the ability to translate complex concepts into simple terms and actionable steps.

  • You have strong technical skills. You're proficient in PowerPoint and Excel, and you manage your time effectively.

At CIBC, we offer a competitive total rewards package. This role has an expected salary of $225,00 for the New York, NY market based on experience, qualifications, and location of the position. The successful candidate may be eligible to participate in the relevant business unit’s incentive compensation plan, which also may include a discretionary bonus component. Candidates hired to work in other locations will be subject to the pay range associated with that location. Additional total compensation and benefits details will be provided during the hiring process.
