What you will do

Provide transformative leadership for the Project Management Office (PMO) by establishing a framework for robust governance, ensuring exceptional delivery standards, and aligning all projects with the strategic objectives of Johnson Controls. Cultivate a culture of consistency, operational excellence, and sustainable improvement across all project portfolios.

How you will do it

  • PMO Leadership: Design, implement, and continuously refine comprehensive PMO frameworks specifically tailored to Building Automation Systems (BAS) projects, ensuring alignment with Johnson Controls' strategic goals and adherence to industry standards.

  • Project Governance: Develop and enforce stringent project controls, risk management protocols, and performance metrics to ensure consistent and successful project execution in line with organizational objectives.

  • Portfolio Management: Oversee the BAS project portfolio with a focus on optimal resource allocation, effective cost management, and adherence to project timelines, while proactively identifying, assessing, and mitigating risks.

  • Stakeholder Engagement: Drive collaboration with cross-functional teams, stakeholders, and customers to harmonize project objectives with business needs, ensuring alignment and fostering long-term relationships.

  • Team Leadership: Recruit, build, and mentor a high-performing team of project managers, promoting a culture of accountability, innovation, and continuous professional growth.

  • Tools & Reporting: Implement and manage advanced project management tools and comprehensive reporting frameworks to enhance transparency, improve decision-making processes, and provide actionable insights to senior leadership for strategy development

What we look for

  • Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, Business Administration, or a related discipline is required.

  • Experience: At least 20 years of progressive experience in the construction or building technologies sectors, with no less than 5 years in senior leadership roles focused on project management or PMO functions, ideally in comparable industries.

  • Certifications: PMP (Project Management Professional) or an equivalent certification is essential.

  • Skills: Deep expertise in project management tools such as Microsoft Project and Primavera, along with advanced capabilities in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint. Exemplary communication, negotiation, and leadership skills are paramount.

  • Attributes: A strategic thinker with strong analytical capabilities, results-driven, and a collaborative leader with a proven track record of managing complex priorities while delivering significant value across the organization.

  • Mobility: A robust willingness to travel as necessary to meet project requirements and stakeholder engagements.
