Meet the team:
The Director, Lean & PMO – Malaysia Site is a senior site leadership role and a core member of the Malaysia Senior Management Team. The role is responsible for leading the design, deployment, and sustainment of the Malaysia site’s Operational Excellence system, fully aligned with the Dexcom Production System (DPS) and global standards, while remaining deeply embedded in day-to-day site execution.
This position leads a site-based team of Lean / Business Excellence professionals and the site PMO organization, accountable not only for defining improvement initiatives, but for driving disciplined execution, governance, and measurable business results across Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost, and Compliance.
The role requires a highly visible factory presence, strong leadership credibility, and the ability to translate site and network strategy into sustained operational performance in a regulated manufacturing environment.
Where you come in:
Site Operational Excellence Leadership
- You will own the Dexcom Production System (DPS) across Malaysia operations—ensuring effective Lean deployment, structured problem solving, and performance management.
- You will lead culture and governance—partnering with the Site GM to align priorities and remove barriers, owning the OpEx maturity model and capability roadmap including Daily Management and Leadership Standard Work), and leading Value Stream Mapping (VSM) and future‑state design across end‑to‑end value streams.
Performance Management & Operating Cadence
- You will design, deploy and sustain the site performance system—SQDCP metrics, visual management, escalation paths, and tiered reviews—and own the daily/weekly/monthly operating cadence for data‑driven decisions and consistent follow‑through.
Continuous Improvement & Capability Building
- You will lead CI deployment—Lean, Six Sigma, Kaizen, Value Engineering—towards a repeatable system across manufacturing, engineering, supply chain, and support functions.
- You will build capability and digitalize operations—coaching at the Gemba, CI training, leader standard work, and integrating MES/dashboards/analytics into the OpEx framework.
Site PMO & Strategy Deployment
- You will lead the Site PMO—owning portfolio intake/prioritization, governance, resourcing, risk/issue management, and benefits realization aligned to PMI standards.
- You will translate strategy into execution—clear initiatives and roadmaps with scope, milestones, risks, and benefits; implement global PMO playbooks with the CoE, including dashboards, resource modeling, and stage‑gate discipline.
Financial & Business Impact
- You will partner with Finance to apply standard business cases and cost models, track benefits, and deliver measurable gains in productivity, cost, capacity utilization, and capital effectiveness.
Compliance & Regulated Environment
- You will ensure compliance with medical device QMS, cGMP, and regulatory requirements, partnering on audits, validations, and CAPAs to improve and sustain performance.
People Leadership
- You will build and develop a high‑performing team of OpEx and PMO professionals—defining roles, competencies, development plans, and succession to sustain long‑term site capability.
What makes you successful:
- You bring 15+ years of experience in manufacturing, operations, or operational excellence roles within regulated industries (medical device, healthcare, or other high-reliability manufacturing environments preferred).
- You demonstrated success leading site-level Operational Excellence and PMO organizations, with direct accountability for execution and results.
- You have deep expertise in Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and CI systems; Master Six Sigma Black Belt and ASQ Certification strongly preferred.
- You bring strong experience establishing site performance management systems, KPI architectures, and operating cadences.
- You have proven ability to translate strategy into execution through disciplined governance and portfolio management.
- You bring strong financial acumen, including business case development, cost modeling, and benefits realization.
- You graduate with Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related technical discipline required; advanced degree a plus.
- Your background includes PMO leadership aligned with PMI standards; PMP, PgMP, or PfMP certifications are a plus.
- You are familiar with digital transformation tools (MES, Power BI/Tableau, automation tools, digital dashboards) used to mature OpEx systems.
- You have experience with global operational networks, Center of Excellence (CoE) collaboration, and scaling OpEx/PMO frameworks across multiple sites.
