What You’ll Do

Sol de Janeiro is seeking a Director of Integrations to lead our integration practice through a period of significant growth and transformation. This is a leadership role responsible for building and managing a high-performing integration team, establishing operational excellence, and ensuring the seamless flow of data across our enterprise systems.

You will inherit a mature, stable integration platform built on MuleSoft's three-tier architecture (Experience/Process/System layers) with 80%+ code reusability. Your mission is to institutionalize what has been built, create formal structures and measurable outcomes, and lead the team through our SAP S/4HANA migration while optimizing costs and scaling capabilities.

This role is ideal for someone who has successfully managed integration teams, thrives on building organizational structure, and can balance technical excellence with business pragmatism.

What You'll Do

Team Leadership & Development

  • Lead a team of 5+ integration professionals including architects, senior developers, and developers across onshore and offshore resources
  • Establish clear career paths, performance metrics, and professional development opportunities
  • Build a cohesive team culture that values quality, collaboration, and continuous improvement
  • Partner with HR on hiring decisions, performance management, and team composition

Operational Excellence

  • Own the stability and reliability of all integration pipelines across e-commerce, ERP, data lake, and enterprise applications
  • Establish and maintain SLAs with business partners across Supply Chain, Finance, Marketing, and Operations
  • Create and track success metrics including system uptime, deployment velocity, incident resolution times, and project delivery rates
  • Minimize production hotfixes through robust testing, code review standards, and operational rigor

Project Intake & Delivery

  • Manage the integration project portfolio from intake through delivery
  • Partner with PMO on project-based initiatives while maintaining integration-specific technical governance
  • Ensure a consistent, sustainable flow of project work through the team
  • Balance new development with operational maintenance and technical debt reduction

Cost Optimization & Budget Management

  • Own accountability for integration-related spend including platform licensing and contractor/MSP costs
  • Partner with leadership on vendor contract negotiations
  • Develop cost optimization strategies and build business cases for platform investments
  • Maintain visibility into total cost of ownership and ROI for integration capabilities

Strategic Initiatives

  • Lead integration workstreams for the SAP S/4HANA migration, leveraging the existing architecture designed for 80%+ code reuse
  • Develop the strategic roadmap for platform evolution, including potential MuleSoft optimization or migration (2027-2028 horizon)
  • Partner with Data and Security teams on cross-functional initiatives
  • Support international expansion requirements including regulatory compliance considerations

Must Haves

  • 8+ years of experience in enterprise integration, with at least 3 years in a management role leading integration teams
  • Proven experience managing distributed teams including offshore resources
  • Deep understanding of integration architecture patterns, API design, and middleware platforms
  • Track record of building organizational structure: establishing SLAs, success metrics, and operational processes
  • Experience managing vendor relationships and optimizing technology spend
  • Strong executive communication skills with ability to translate technical concepts for business stakeholders

Technical Foundation

  • Hands-on experience with enterprise integration platforms (MuleSoft strongly preferred; Boomi, Informatica, or similar acceptable)
  • Understanding of ERP integration patterns (SAP and/or NetSuite experience valuable)
  • Familiarity with e-commerce platforms (Shopify, Amazon) and their integration requirements
  • Knowledge of data integration patterns and data lake architectures
  • Understanding of security requirements including SOC 2 compliance considerations

Leadership Qualities

  • You build structure without bureaucracy, creating just enough process to enable consistency and scale
  • You are metrics-driven and can define, track, and communicate meaningful success indicators
  • You balance technical excellence with business pragmatism, making smart trade-offs when needed
  • You develop people, helping individual contributors grow into senior roles
  • You communicate effectively across all levels, from detailed technical discussions to executive summaries

Nice to Have

  • Experience in consumer packaged goods, retail, or beauty industry
  • SAP S/4HANA or SAP BTP experience
  • EDI/B2B integration experience with trading partners
  • Experience leading teams through major platform migrations

Success in This Role

First 90 Days:

  • Complete onboarding with deep dives into current architecture, team capabilities, and in-flight projects
  • Establish relationships with key business stakeholders and understand their integration needs
  • Assess team strengths and development opportunities
  • Document current state metrics as baseline for improvement

First Year:

  • Achieve stable, predictable operations with defined SLAs and minimal unplanned work
  • Deliver consistent project throughput with measurable improvement in delivery velocity
  • Complete integration workstreams for SAP migration milestones
  • Grow the team strategically aligned with business needs
  • Establish the integration function as a recognized, valued partner to the business
Salary Range
$150,000$180,000 USD
