Director of Partner Distribution

This position in Amex GBT represents an exciting opportunity to work in the dynamic world of distribution, focused on optimizing distribution relationships with Airlines and other transport providers. This is a strategic role, where the successful applicant will lead a team dedicated to optimizing distribution relationships with key Airlines and other partners. They will also work with external industry collaborators to ensure efficient strategic outcomes.

The role sits on the supplier side of the organization, within the Global Business Partnerships (GBP) team. This team is a strategic component of the business model and value proposition for GBT, contributing significantly to revenue generation and customer value.

What You´ll Do:

• Work with Distribution Team’s leadership to drive the global air distribution strategy
• Partnering with Airlines to ensure strong collaboration on distribution matters, alignment on goals and improving the overall offering to joint customers
• Work through content related issues and apply solutions as required to overcome challenges
• Working with internal partners to ensure alignment & progress on key goals
• Developing and implementing new strategies to evolve and expand the content offered to customers utilising new capabilities and technology as required
• Coordinate between airline and connectivity partners to identify and prioritize resolution of feature gaps to drive improvements in shopping, pricing and booking and servicing processes
• Represent GBT Group at industry working groups advocating scalable solutions to industry challenges in order to reduce barriers to new technology adoption
• Partner internally with airline and distribution account management as a subject matter expert for GDS connectivity, NDC, air shopping logic and the online travel marketplace

What We´re Looking For:

• 5+ years of experience in the content and distribution space
• Understanding of key industry trends and it’s impact on the corporate travel experience
• Strong product and technology knowledge base
• Strategic thinking skillset
• Experience of ‘future proofing’ within organisations
• Excellent organizational and planning skills, an attention to detail and ability to deliver within deadlines
• Strong relationship building skills and the ability to collaborate with colleagues and external partners
• Strong understanding of the overall travel industry
• Ability to work across time zones

• This role will have multiple direct reports
• Candidate is responsible for the processes and workflows described above and generally will work autonomously, subject to feedback from constituents and ongoing mentorship provided by their manager.
