Priority1 is a growing technology and logistics company that is searching for a Director of Sales to develop, create, and lead a new market segment of our business. This position will oversee an office in Atlanta. Priority1 itself, is a full-service 3rd Party Logistics provider. This is a great opportunity for a goal-oriented sales leader to transform our business from a logistics company into a technology focused company in order to capitalize on the growth potential of our business.

The Director of Sales will report directly to the Vice President of Sales (Ryan Majerle) and will be responsible for the continued development of our training material, deployment of CRM, and development of a sales team to go to market. This leader should be highly competitive, goal and task oriented, and have excellent organization and management skills.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities include the following:

  • Recruit, hire, train and manage subordinate employees to build and grow outside sales team

  • Develop a high-performance sales team by modeling Priority-1 sales practices, training on those practices, and provide ongoing coaching to ensure accountability through supervising subordinate employees’ job performance, including but not limited to providing feedback in the sales territory field, management of forecasts, sales plans, lead generation and management, customer proposal response, development of customer leads, presentation, negotiation, and closing abilities, and adherence to the Priority-1 sales process

  • Performance management of subordinate employees, includes regular supervision, job performance feedback in both informal and formal discussions, coaching, training, support, and administration of appropriate corrective actions in accordance with company policies and applicable laws

  • Develop business by prospecting in-person in the assigned market(s), telephone, e[1]

  • Regularly visit customer and prospective customer locations in assigned market(s) to build relationships, assess opportunities, and assist subordinate employees in closing new and growth of present business

  • Actively support subordinate employees in the field by modeling Priority-1 sales practices and helping close complex opportunities

  • Develop and present formal presentations using PowerPoint and web-based presentation materials • Formulate pricing strategies with the general manager

  • Closing contracts with new clients or existing clientele

  • Meet and exceed established performance metrics including hiring targets, new business development goals, and sales forecast

  • Adhere to Priority-1 sales practices to manage leads and current customers, forecast, and guide decision-making and sales planning

  • Provide leadership and collaborate with internal teams to both retain and expand existing internal partnerships

  • Oversee office-related operational needs, including leasing and managing office locations as needed to support team functions

  • Responsible for managing profit and loss (P&L) statements and financial performance for assigned market(s)

  • Travel as required within assigned market(s) and for sales training

  • Perform other reasonable duties within the scope of the position as assigned by management

Requirements:

  • 1 year of logistics and sales management experience preferred.

  • Advanced CRM proficiency required.

  • Ability to recognize a good P1 opportunity

  • Proficiency (with a track record to prove it) in the 6 critical areas of the Outside Sales role

  • Entrepreneurial spirit and drive needed to work effectively within a young and growing company.

  • A manager who leads by example and has a successful track record of hiring, training, developing and inspiring teams.

  • Strong oral and written communication skills coupled with the interpersonal skills needed in a fast paced, team centered environment.

  • A truly hands on individual who enjoys being part of a team environment, working well within one and is solution driven.

  • Ability to work independently, knowing what needs to be done and able to effectively make that happen.

  • Ability to partner and communicate with the Home Office to refine systems and implement best practices.

Physical Requirements:

Job functions require long periods of sitting and working from computer workstation; ability to multi-task, problem solve, and prioritize daily workload; excellent organization and record keeping skills; comfortable with oral and written communications. Requires extended periods of sitting, walking, standing, bending, twisting, and stretching. Must be able to effectively communicate and perceive information through visual and auditory means, with or without reasonable accommodation. The ability to deal with stressful situations and occasionally working extended hours. Position requires regular travel by motor vehicle and air transportation within assigned territories. Ability to operate a vehicle to travel within assigned sales markets and territories. The ability to move to and from different potential customer locations and customer business facilities, which may be office settings and factories.
