The Director, Marketing will be responsible for the oversight and execution of marketing activities to help achieve annual business targets for embecta in Canada. The role will own day to day leadership of marketing and clinical teams as well as lead strategic marketing imperatives to evolve our go -to-market and expand our category leadership. This role will provide insight to the Canada LT and VP/GM on current and future market dynamics and how it could impact the business. The ideal candidate will excel at seeking to do things differently, removing obstacles and empowering others. We’re looking for a leader and collaborator who has a strong drive for results, is rewarded by the success of their team, fosters new and diverse ideas and encourages team interactions. Valuable member of Canadian Leadership Team. This role will have 5 direct reports, at various levels of experience.
Responsibilities:
· Achieve and exceed annual revenue and profit objectives in accordance with the annual business plan.
· Lead the Annual Strategic Review and Marketing plan cycles for the business.
· Collaboration with global marketing and regional sales teams to execute national objectives and strategies.
· Lead preparation for quarterly financial projection,
· Lead the team in the development and implementation of marketing communication programs across all elements of the communications mix and channels.
· S&OP (inventory management) accountability.
· Lead KOL and advocacy programs and relationships for Canada.
· Manage marketing budget and track ROI on campaigns.
· Develop and maintain expert market knowledge in terms of market landscape and future opportunities.
· Analyze, interpret and report market data and trends to assist with the deployment of specific actions to maximize business opportunities and minimize potential threats.
· Lead in the organization and co-ordination of product lifecycle activities and communications.
· Provide clear and consistent leadership and coaching to team while working to support individual and team development goals.
· Drive commercial excellence through representation on global Marketing Leadership Team.
· Role will require ability to travel up to 25% and ability to participate in overnight travel or evening/weekend engagements on occasion (meetings, trainings, tradeshows, etc.).

Basic Requirements:
· University bachelor’s degree in business or science.
· 10+ years in Marketing within medical device or healthcare industry, diabetes experience an asset.
· 5+ years demonstrated people management and development skills.
· Commercialization excellence.
· Marketing planning and execution.
· Customer insights and analytics.
· Experience building and leading strong teams, developing employees, and empowering team to drive business outcomes.
· Detailed knowledge of Marketing strategies, and strategic selling skills.
· Success in leading KOL and Advocacy programs and relationships.
Preferred Requirements:
· MBA / Masters preferred.
· Bilingual in French and English strongly preferred.
· High level presentation skills in a variety of presentation settings: one-on-one, small and large groups, with peers, direct reports, and senior leadership.
