About this role:
Wells Fargo is seeking a Director of Inventory Finance Client Management - National Dealers Accounts (Senior Leader Credit Sales Specialist) within our Inventory Finance business to support and grow relationships with our largest and most sophisticated dealer groups. This role serves as a strategic credit advisor and primary relationship leader for high‑value clients—typically large, multi‑location dealers with complex operating models and annual revenues from $100MM to exceeding $5 billion—while leveraging deep direct‑lending experience, strong financial and credit acumen, and advanced relationship‑building skills to structure and deliver inventory financing solutions that support clients’ growth, liquidity needs, and business strategies. Operating with a high level of autonomy, this leader partners closely with Risk, Underwriting, Operations, and Commercial Banking coverage teams to drive new opportunities, manage portfolio performance, and ensure the highest level of service to our dealers.
In this role, you will:
- Act as an advisor to senior leadership to develop or influence long-term goals for highly complex business and technical needs across Commercial Banking or Corporate & Investment Banking
- May be assigned a contractual territory and responsible for managing partner relationships to ensure deal opportunities are directed to the business, in alignment with agreement terms
- Build and maintain effective relationships with existing clients within their products or functional area, including sharing relevant information with coverage team partners. Knowledge of syndications both lead & participant.
- Independently review and analyze client portfolios, including highly complex scenarios, for key issues related to cash flow, liquidity, leverage, working capital, debt coverage, collateral or enterprise value analysis, and repayment sources, including for use in periodic reviews as well as interim underwriting memoranda
- Partner with coverage teams within the context of individual deals and client relationships, to anticipate and understand clients’ businesses, strategic objectives, operational priorities, and financial positions to identify opportunities for modifications, renewals, and refinancings
- Lead modifications, renewals, and refinancings of varying complexity levels, including assessing a client’s financial position and risk level and acting as an advisor to leadership for highly complex situations for both prospective and existing clients
- Lead the strategy and resolution of highly complex and unique challenges by synthesizing industry and economic trends, including complicated legal and regulatory issues, in addition to regular portfolio reviews to manage risk and lead problem loan resolutions, where applicable
- Prepare for periodic exams by internal and external auditors
- Strategically engage with all levels across the enterprise and serve as an expert advisor to leadership to resolve client issues and achieve business objectives while leveraging a sound understanding of relevant policies, procedures, and compliance requirements
- Partner with product management functional partners and other senior leaders to provide vision, direction, and expertise to leadership on evolving market needs to enable the innovation, design, and delivery of credit solutions more effectively, including large-scale, cross-functional, or companywide strategies
Required Qualifications:
- 7+ years of secured or specialized lending relationship management or portfolio management experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
Desired Qualifications:
- Experience in commercial lending, asset‑based lending, or secured credit supporting large corporate or enterprise‑level clients
- Demonstrated success managing complex client relationships with organizations exceeding $1B+ in annual revenue, ideally in capital‑intensive industries (e.g., manufacturing, transportation, distribution)
- Strong financial analysis capabilities, including evaluating cash flow, collateral, leverage, and liquidity structures for large commercial borrowers
- Proven ability to originate, structure, and negotiate complex credit facilities involving multiple entities, collateral classes, or cross‑functional stakeholders
- Experience partnering with credit, risk, underwriting, and portfolio management teams within a large financial institution to deliver integrated credit solutions
- Ability to quickly learn and adapt to new industry verticals, products, or financing models, demonstrating intellectual curiosity and strategic thinking
- Track record of independently managing a high‑value portfolio with a strong focus on risk assessment, early issue identification, and proactive problem‑solving
- Exceptional executive‑level communication skills with the ability to present to senior leadership and influence outcomes in high‑visibility situations
- Experience supporting clients in industries with inventory‑heavy, supply‑chain‑driven, or asset‑intensive business models, even if not in dealer or floorplan finance
- Strong strategic relationship‑building abilities, including experience navigating complex organizational structures and developing multi‑stakeholder engagement plans

Reflected is the base pay range offered for this position. Pay may vary depending on factors including but not limited to achievements, skills, experience, or work location. The range listed is just one component of the compensation package offered to candidates.
Salary is just one component of Wells Fargo's total rewards package. Depending on the role, a Wells Fargo's employee may be eligible for additional forms of compensation, such as sales incentives, discretionary bonuses, and/or equity in the company in the form of Restricted Stock Units (RSUs).
