Director of Human Resources

U-Haul International, Inc. is seeking a dynamic and experienced professional to join our team as the Director of Human Resources. As the leader of our Human Resources department, you will play a pivotal role in shaping our company's culture and driving our people strategy to new heights. This is a unique opportunity to make a significant impact within a fast-paced and innovative organization.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Lead and oversee the entire Human Resources department, including payroll, benefits, compensation, workplace solutions, analytics, HRIS, and more.

  • Develop and implement HR strategies and initiatives aligned with the overall business objectives.

  • Provide strategic leadership and guidance to the HR team and collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure HR initiatives are integrated with business goals.

  • Develop and manage HR policies and procedures in compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.

  • Drive performance management processes and contribute to the development of a high-performance culture.

  • Develop and manage the HR budget and ensure cost-effective delivery of HR services.

  • Collaborate with the executive team to set and achieve HR-related goals and KPIs.

 

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field; Master’s degree preferred.

  • 5+ years in a leadership role. The leadership role does not have to be directly in an HR environment.

  • Progressive experience in Human Resources is preferred.

  • Strong leadership and management skills with a proven ability to lead and inspire a diverse HR team.

  • Deep understanding of HR best practices, employment laws, and regulations.

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to build effective working relationships at all levels of the organization.

  • Proven track record of developing and implementing HR strategies that align with business objectives.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a data-driven approach to decision-making.

  • High level of empathy and emotional intelligence, with the ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.

  • Ability to set clear goals, prioritize effectively, and drive results in a fast-paced environment.
