Director of Financial Risk & Controls

Remote, Arizona Full time

The Director of Financial Risk & Controls is a senior-level professional responsible for overseeing the Company’s approach to financial risk mitigation including compliance with Sarbanes Oxley.  In this role, you'll partner with key stakeholders to design and implement continual improvements to our existing processes and controls to ensure appropriate structure as we continue to grow organically and through acquisitionIn addition to risks and controls, this position will work closely with finance leadership on strategic projects and technical accounting related to transaction activity. 

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES 

  • Manage the overall financial controls scoping and risk assessment 

  • Train stakeholders in the proper execution and documentation of internal control activities 

  • Create and maintain process documentation of all key cycles 

  • Assess identified deficiencies individually and in the aggregate. 

  • Oversee the remediation plan design and implementation. 

  • Ad hoc support on process and control design updates (e.g. system implementations/upgrades, acquiree integrations) 

  • Collaborate with other departments (HR, legal, and operations) to ensure alignment on control matters. 

  • Coordinate with external auditors on control related matters 

  • Identify areas of evolving risk and design the Company response. 

  • Draft technical accounting memos on new and emerging topics. 

  • Assist in ad-hoc transactional work in control, technical accounting, and other areas that may arise.

JOB REQUIREMENTS (Education, Experience, Knowledge, Skills & Abilities) 

  • 10+ years of related experience with a mix of public accounting and corporate accounting experience 
  • CPA Certification 
  • Excellent communication skills 
  • Excellent research and writing skills 
  • Strong computer skills are a must 
  • Public Company Experience a plus 
  • Healthcare background a plus
