RBC

Director of Digital, Portfolio Management Reimagined

TORONTO, Ontario, Canada Full time

Job Description

What is the opportunity?

Reporting to the Senior Director, Wealth Digital, this Director-level role sits at the intersection of strategy, execution, and senior stakeholder engagement — leading critical workstreams under a high-visibility, multi-year initiative to reimagine the Advisor portfolio management experience within Wealth Management.

The Portfolio Management Reimagined project is an awesome opportunity to hone your product management skills on another level. You will own end-to-end product accountability for advisor-facing digital capabilities that modernize how portfolios are constructed, managed, and monitored across the firm — spanning strategic vision, day-to-day execution, and the cross-functional relationships required to deliver at scale in a complex enterprise environment.

As Digital Director on the program, you will be expected to operate with a high degree of autonomy, bring a strong point of view on product direction, and influence senior business and technology stakeholders across the organization.

What will you do?

Product Strategy & Roadmapping

  • Lead and own defined product workstream(s) aligned to the Portfolio Management Reimagined vision, with accountability for outcomes
  • Translate high-level organizational strategy into coherent product roadmaps, actionable project plans, milestones, and prioritized backlogs
  • Bring a clear and defensible point of view on sequencing, trade-offs, and investment priorities to senior leadership

Stakeholder & Relationship Management

  • Build and maintain trusted relationships with senior business, technology, design, and operations stakeholders across the organization
  • Serve as a credible and influential voice for the product workstream in cross-functional forums, steering committees, and leadership reviews
  • Partner closely with the Senior Director to support program-level communications, escalations, and decision-making

Client & Advisor Discovery

  • Lead qualitative and quantitative user research, including advisor workshops, interviews, and feedback synthesis
  • Advocate strongly for the Advisor experience, ensuring that product decisions are consistently informed by user insight

Product Execution & Delivery

  • Drive day-to-day product execution with rigour: own the backlog, prioritize user stories, and ensure requirements are thoroughly vetted
  • Actively participate in Agile ceremonies including scrum, sprint planning, testing, and release activities
  • Own feedback channels and outcome measurement frameworks; use data and advisor input to iterate and improve continuously

What do you need to succeed?

Must have

  • 7–12 years of experience in digital product management, platform ownership, digital strategy, or equivalent — with a track record of leading complex, high-impact products
  • Demonstrated ability to operate at both the strategic and executional level: comfortable shaping vision and rolling up your sleeves to deliver
  • Experience delivering digital products in complex enterprise or financial services environments
  • Strong visual thinker with a genuine appreciation for design, user experience, and the craft of product
  • Exceptional communication skills — written, verbal, and presentational — with the ability to engage and align senior leaders
  • Comfortable with ambiguity; able to structure problems, form a point of view, and drive forward independently

Nice-to-Have

  • Agile / Scrum delivery experience; familiarity with JIRA and Confluence
  • Experience with Figma or comparable UX collaboration tools
  • Understanding of wealth and asset management fundamentals

What’s in it for you?

We thrive on the challenge to be our best, progressive thinking to keep growing, and working together to deliver world class digital experiences to our clients. We care about each other, reaching our potential, making a difference to our communities, and achieving success that is mutual.

  • A comprehensive Total Rewards Program including bonuses and flexible benefits, competitive compensation package.
  • Leaders who support your development through coaching and managing opportunities.
  • Ability to make a difference and lasting impact.
  • Work in a dynamic, collaborative, progressive, and high-performing team.
  • Opportunities to do challenging work.
  • Opportunities to take on progressively greater accountabilities
