Required Education and/or Experience:
• Bachelor’s degree in graphic design, visual communications, marketing, or a related field;
• Five (5) years of progressively responsible experience in creative direction, design, or marketing communications;
• Demonstrated success in developing and executing integrated creative campaigns.
Preferred Education and/or Experience:
• Master’s degree in a related field;
• Experience in higher education or a complex organization with multiple stakeholders;
• Experience with brand development and implementation across large organizations.
• Three (3) years of supervisory experience managing a creative or design team.
Job Duties and Responsibilities
• Lead the creative services team in developing compelling visual content for advertising, social media, digital platforms, publications, and events;
• Serve as the university’s lead creative strategist, providing direction and feedback on concept development, design execution, and overall visual storytelling;
• Oversee production schedules, project prioritization, and resource allocation to ensure timely delivery of high-impact creative work;
• Maintain and evolve the university’s visual identity and brand standards, ensuring
consistent application across all media;
• Collaborate with marketing, communications, and digital strategy teams to translate institutional priorities into cohesive campaigns and visuals;
• Partner with campus units to provide creative consultation that aligns their materials with the university’s brand;
• Foster professional development, collaboration, and innovation within the creative team.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
• Strong leadership and team management skills with the ability to inspire and motivate creative professionals;
• Expert knowledge of design principles, branding, and visual storytelling;
• Proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud and other industry-standard design and project management tools;
• Strategic thinker with a keen understanding of marketing objectives and audience engagement;
• Excellent communication and presentation skills with the ability to convey creative concepts to non-creative stakeholders;
• Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment;
• Deep understanding of print production, digital media formats, and emerging design trends.
