Director of Communications Systems & Automation
(AI-Driven, Tech-Enabled Culture Communications)

Purpose
Transform Beacon’s communications ecosystem by applying AI, automation, and design thinking to how we engage 20,000 employees across 29 companies. This role is not about drafting memos; it’s about engineering personalization, storytelling, and efficiency at scale. The leader in this seat will connect technology, data, and creativity to make every message feel more local, more human, and more impactful.
Key Responsibilities
· AI-Driven Insights: Analyze surveys, engagement metrics, and communication data to identify trends, pain points, and opportunities for more tailored communication.
· Personalized Campaign Systems: Build frameworks that adapt messaging to each of Beacon’s 29 companies, using automation and AI to localize tone, examples, and content.
· Visual Content Automation: Develop workflows for tagging, captioning, and routing field-submitted photos into ready-to-approve content streams for social media, digital signage, and internal apps.
· Self-Service Design Tools: Create AI-enabled templates and brand-guardrailed assets (flyers, banners, slides, signage) so teams can easily produce high-quality materials without waiting on central comms.
· Workflow & Platform Integration: Use tools like Copilot, Power Automate, or Zapier to connect systems, reduce manual work, and speed up content creation and distribution.
· Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with IT, HR, and field leaders to ensure automation tools integrate with enterprise platforms.
· Creative Enablement: Build an environment that empowers local storytellers—helping people across the organization share wins, recognize peers, and contribute content seamlessly.

· Growth in use of employee-generated content for recognition and storytelling.

The strongest candidates will not come from traditional communications—they’ll come from tech-enabled, creative, and customer-facing roles.
Examples include:
· Technical Marketing: From marketing technology companies or startups where creativity meets data and automation.
· Sales or Business Development: Experienced in persuasion, storytelling, and adapting messages for diverse audiences.
· Design and Creative Operations: Skilled at building systems that make brand-aligned creativity scalable and accessible.
· Product, CX, or Systems Management: Understands how to translate complex technology into intuitive, people-friendly workflows.
· Digital Transformation or Analytics: Comfortable using data to guide communication and culture decisions.
Ideal Candidate Profile
· 8+ years in a hybrid role spanning technology, marketing, design, or sales.
· Proven experience building or implementing AI/automation tools (Copilot, ChatGPT Enterprise, Jasper, Zapier, Make, Power BI, etc.).
· Strong visual eye and appreciation for brand storytelling.
· Data-driven, creative, and unafraid to experiment with new technologies.
· Passionate about empowering people and simplifying communication through smart systems.
