General Summary:

This role is accountable for supporting our large employer (500 lives+), public sector, and broker market development efforts across the country, in partnership with field and home office resources. This individual will partner with the proper Colonial Life and distribution SMEs to deliver relevant content and drive overall program execution, reporting, and ongoing prospect broker and client engagement.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

  • Execute relevant market development programs (communication/engagement campaigns, repository development, etc.) that can be delivered in various industry venues and through our key sales leadership, field, and broker / consultant and partners.
  • Track and monitor pipeline development and new business sales growth attributable to the specified market activities and broker partners.
  • Develop and maintain market development business plans in support of Premier Client, Broker, and National Broker Alliance business plans.
  • Provide project management and support for all market development activities, in partnership with AVP, Regional Market Development and field partners.
  • Support industry engagement activities to include management of event execution.
  • Support pre-prospecting activities, utilizing data analytics and market research. Gather and organize regional and local market data on clients, prospects and brokers.
  • Organize data for each campaign by utilizing the Salesforce (or other CRM systems) to insure appropriate tracking and monitoring of all market development activities. Responsible for entering and maintaining all pre-prospecting and campaign information in the CRM system.
  • Evaluate the needed resources (internal and external) for pilot projects and assemble the appropriate resources from inside and outside the company to address the business needs of a program
  • Evaluate and manage key external relationships specific to the Public Sector

Job Specifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required, Master’s Degree and / or CEBS professional designation preferred
  • 8+ years general business/marketing experience or equivalent relevant experience
  • Insurance or other financial services experience is a plus
  • Strong ability to strategically and effectively structure and frame an issue
  • Top notch problem solving and analytical skills - Analytical skill required to review and organize market data, and build into a market-level prospect targeting
  • Ability to create, develop and champion a series of recommendations based on qualitative research and/or data-supported insights
  • Ability to work effectively in a large cross-functional, home office environment and partner with a large national sales force
  • Acumen to quickly become proficient on new topics, industries and technologies
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills—adaptable to appropriate audience
  • Comfort with ambiguity including the ability to process significant amounts of information and communicate succinct recommendations
  • Strong people management skills for matrix relationships
  • Proven leadership, negotiation and influencing skills
  • Proven ability to execute and achieve strong results
  • Demonstrated consultative ability, solution-oriented and able to effectively collaborate and influence cross-functionally, achieving results despite organizational barriers
  • Strong project management abilities
  • Ability for some travel (<25% of the time)

The base salary range for applicants for this position is listed below. Unless actual salary is indicated above in the job description, actual pay will be based on skill, geographical location and experience.

$89,900.00-$169,900.00
