Please note: This role is not a fully remote position. The selected candidate will need to be based in Singapore and follow our hybrid work setup—3 days onsite and 2 days working from home each week. This is an Individual Contributor position.
We are looking for a talented, creative, and agile legal professional with growth and compliance mindset to serve as Director, Legal Counsel - ASP (Singapore) as part of the legal team for the ASEAN and South Pacific Operating Unit (“ASP OU”), with focus on supply point and innovation functions based in Singapore and regional coverage for Australia, New Zealand, Pacific Islands and Papua New Guinea. The successful candidate will also be expected to partner and collaborate effectively with other legal team members within ASP OU, including the other Legal Counsel for Australia, New Zealand, Pacific Islands and Papua New Guinea, and global legal teams. What You’ll Do
Essential tasks and responsibilities of the role include:
Serving as primary legal partner to the supply point and innovation teams, and the as legal partner and support for Australia, New Zealand, Pacific Islands and Papua New Guinea, delivering proactive, timely, risk assessment, solution-oriented legal counsel, advice and deliverables on a wide variety of matters impacting the business, upholds compliance, governance and protecting the organization’s reputation and enterprise interests
Providing risk assessment, solution oriented legal advice and legal implementation related to various applicable laws and regulations, such as anti-bribery, competition law, consumer protection, data and privacy, digital, employment, food law, environment, sustainability, supply chain, corporate and investment laws, etc.
Providing proactive legal advice and counseling for strategic partnerships framework and providing local legal support for M&A initiatives
Reviewing and approving consumer facing materials, including innovations, advertising, campaigns, promotions, public affairs or consumer communications, claims, labels and packaging, etc. to be in line with relevant Company policies and applicable laws and regulations
Protecting company’s assets, including effective partnership with intellectual property subject matter experts
Conducting contract analysis and drafting, supporting contract negotiation and implementation to achieve business objectives and protect enterprise interest and reputation
Managing and advising on legal dispute resolution and litigation, including partnering with internal subject matter experts and managing external litigation counsel, as needed
Providing proactive legal advice and advocacy on public policies relevant to business and enterprise interests
Providing legal guidance, education/training and direction related to building and implementing governance, compliance routines, and other legal compliance mechanisms
Support and implement efficiency opportunities on the day-to-day operation to enhance the quality and speed of the legal service delivery to the business
Carry out any other instruction given by OU ASP Counsel to protect and advance business and legal team priorities and interests
What We’re Looking For
Bachelor of Law degree. Preferably holds a valid Australian practicing certificate
Minimum of 8 years of in-house counsel and/or law firm experience. Experience in the FMCG industry would be a plus

Contracts and Transactions: Ability to review, draft and negotiate contracts, such as marketing, sponsorship, procurements contracts with significant authority as per delegation of authority to make final decision on legal issue
Way of Working: Ability to be highly organized, agile, efficient and effective, handle multiple complex projects and carefully prioritize competing work assignments from multiple stakeholders, including appropriately escalating concerns
