Join our Finance and Investment Technology Team!
You will lead several key initiatives within General Accounts and Global Wealth Asset Management team, driving us forward with innovation while protecting data and the company’s reputation.
In collaboration with technology partners, business leaders, and external vendors, the incumbent will lead a group of employees to create and deliver valuable functionality to our products across various asset classes. Furthermore, the role will provide industry leading service in application and product management while maintaining high data quality, accuracy and protection standards.
Position Responsibilities:
Deliver on key organizational initiatives on time and within budget for all the products in Investment Accounting and Cash management.
Lead and motivate a forward-thinking, high-impact team. Provide mentorship and take accountability for career development of direct reports.
Engage alongside Business Leaders to direct the team to develop new, insightful, and efficiency-generating product features. Balance demands, collaborating with business partners to ensure appropriate benefits and workflow for the team.
Guide and support the deployment of a data governance agenda to accelerate trust and utilization of data across Institutional and General Accounts Technology.
Innovate and continuously improve practices and outcomes. Evaluate and analyze new and existing technologies and capabilities to ensure improved outcomes that add customer value. Explore, document and present solution alternatives that improve processes and business objectives.
Required Qualifications:
6-10 years’ experience with Investment Accounting systems such as Simcorp, Eagle or Maximus.
Progressive career path in IT delivery, any experience managing financial applications in Cloud platform is a plus
Ability to handle project financials, product vendors, staffing partners and contracts.
Experience in capital markets and investment transaction workflows, with a solid understanding of financial interfaces, custodian bank operations, and related data management processes.
Ability to conduct PI planning sessions, communicate business value and manage collaborator/matrix reporting.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with product management tools like Jira.
Experience managing global software development teams to ensure timely delivery.
Advanced degree or equivalent experience in a financial, business, IT, or engineering field.
Leadership background with transformation initiatives, encompassing people, process and technology aspects of change.
Expertise in data governance technologies, preference to those with big data and Cloud platforms.
Excellent organizational, communication and time management skills, with established competence in multi-tasking. Experience in writing and ratifying policies and guidelines in the context of a global organization.
Initiative to organize various functions vital to accomplish department activities or goals and be a trusted leader and team mate for the greater team.
Self-starter, with a passion, drive, curiosity and motivation to navigate across a global matrixed organization.
Proven ability to establish credibility with internal partners and colleagues; to be the seen as an inspiring leader and a partner to the business with a deep technical expertise.

Salary range is expected to be between
$110,530.00 CAD - $205,270.00 CADIf you are applying for this role outside of the primary location, please contact recruitment@manulife.com for the salary range for your location. The actual salary will vary depending on local market conditions, geography and relevant job-related factors such as knowledge, skills, qualifications, experience, and education/training.
