POSITION SUMMARY:

Directs the day-to-day activities related to Hospice Practice regulatory, compliance, and audit environment. Works with the Policy (POL) office to supports, reviews, and update Hospice policies and procedures which guide office compliance with company standards, CHAP, Federal and State guidelines. Ensures all office activities comply with company standards. Oversees external hospice audits and the tracking, response, and data analytics involved with the management of such audits. Identifies areas of risk within the hospice program and advises leadership and assists with mitigation of risk areas. Demonstrates experience and judgment as a hospice subject matter expert and demonstrates the ability to plan and accomplish goals while advising and supporting Hospice leaders and support staff.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Four (4) year college degree and must be a Registered Nurse.
  • Three (3) or more years of hospice nursing experience preferred.
  • Three (3) to five (5) years managerial experience.
  • Two (2) or more years experience managing external audits and writing appeals.
  • Possess a strong understanding of the current hospice regulatory environment.
  • Ability to lead a team’s performance.
  • Experience supervising employees at various levels.
  • Develop team members by mentoring and developing staff to advance through career tracks.
  • Ability to work independently, motivate and be self-motivated, flexible, versatile, and creative.
  • Possess problem solving ability, leadership skills and be able to foster interpersonal relationships.
  • Must have the ability to write reports, business correspondence and procedure manuals and the ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from the groups of employees, managers, directors and clients.
  • Oversight of Hospice Quality Assessment and Performance Improvement Process and Initiatives.
  • Inter-practice collaboration on care innovation projects within BAYADA Home Health Care.
  • Demonstrated record of goal achievement.
  • Demonstrated record of strong interpersonal skills.
  • Acceptable pre-employment assessment results.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Monitor hospice industry regulatory standards and requirements.
  • Carry out managerial responsibilities in accordance with the company’s policies and applicable laws.
  • Monitor, track, and analyze external hospice audits and strategies response to audits which includes appeal writing, risk advisement to leadership, policy revision, additional monitoring as needed.
  • Review clinical documentation to assure records meet all regulatory and compliance standards. If a deficiency is discovered, she/he addresses it in a timely manner, advising hospice team members on potential areas of improvement. Review complaints and addresses problems with documentation or care. Create education for Hospice staff.
  • Design and maintain hospice dashboards by integrating key data elements that enhance the visibility of the hospice program’s compliance with regulatory standards.
  • Manage self, work, and communication in keeping with BAYADA Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
  • Foster a teamwork concept and instills accountability in team members.
  • Participate in the development of company policies and procedures to better serve our clients.
  • Continually review and make recommendations for revisions of company operating systems to ensure they are current, efficient, effective, and reliable.
  • Actively participate in Hospice practice projects and initiatives as needed.
  • Demonstrate solid performance or exceed performance standards in key job dimensions/attributes as defined on the Performance Appraisal for Office Staff.
  • Perform related duties, or as required or requested by supervisor

  • Base Salary: $132,000-$142,000 / year plus bonus opportunity depending on qualifications
