Job Description
 

Key Responsibilities:
Assume full P&L responsibility for Gilead; maximize sales and profit growth via an operational plan. Develop realistic but stretch budgets with Regional and HQ leadership to ensure targets are met. Responsible for the profitable development of the Affiliate, maximizing the potential of existing product ranges and ensuring the successful introduction of new products.
Provide motivational leadership through personal example and demonstrating the Gilead Management & Leadership Competencies: Providing Vision and Direction, Developing Teams, and Driving for Excellence
Position and launch the company with key stakeholders within the country: health authorities, key opinion leaders, policy makers and payers. Develop the company brand and ensure that the company is respected and viewed as a highly ethical partner within the industry, within trade associations and at the Governmental level, and on behalf of the patients we serve
Foster an inclusive culture within the affiliate office, which attracts, develops and retains high calibre candidates, helping to build and shape a talent pool that will drive the future successes of the organization
Ensure high levels of business compliance within the organisation which is consistent with Gilead values and local industry codes of conduct
Be an impactful member of the regional leadership team and represent the needs of the affiliate within the Region and HQ

Profile Requirements:
12+ Years of work experience with Undergraduate degree from an accredited university in a related field; advanced degree in the medical sciences highly preferred.
General commercial management expertise within the pharmaceutical/life sciences sector, ideally in specialty care, with strong track record of successful achievement and clear progression in sales and marketing is required
Demonstrated Financial acumen, to assume P&L responsibility is required
A broad business or commercial profile ideally developed in a global context, ideally with direct experience in South Africa is highly preferred; excellent understanding of ethical sales marketing
Professional track record of successfully driving exceptional business growth, and launching new products / moving into new therapeutic areas is highly preferred
Strategic planning and budgeting skills including sales forecasting experience
Knowledge of relevant distribution channels and systems
Outstanding, demonstrated leadership skills, able to lead by example whilst also committed to developing and coaching key individuals to deliver exceptional performance and maximise their longer term potential
Strong analytical and numerical skills, including system tools to summarize and present is essential
