Who are we hiring?

The Director GardenVision is responsible for the daily administration of GardenVision and supports all in-arena needs.  This includes supervising GardenVision production staff and Local 3 Electricians, in coordination with the arena event calendar. The Director GardenVision attends both internal and external client production meetings, gathers, maintains and distributes event information, including graphic and video material.  This position interacts with advertising agencies, marketing companies, concert and sports promoters in the creation and display of videos, graphics and motion graphics for GardenVision.

The Director of GardenVision is responsible for tracking the billing of departments and outside clients for maintenance and technology vendors. Manages creation of graphics and motion-graphics for non-MSG Sports events. The scope of this role works in conjunction with the NY Rangers, NY Knicks, Sports Properties, Entertainment, Family Shows, Ad Sales, Special Events, Event Production and management to fulfill needs related to all relative projects and content display.

What will you do?

  • Oversee the set up and operation of GardenVision, LED Boards, Digital Signage, Marquees and Event Presentation during events.
  • Coordinate production, facilities, staffing, graphics needs and requirements with game, event and entertainment producers.
  • Monitor and report on control room operations, technical staff and equipment condition.
  • Schedule, train and manage full-time staff as well as freelance producers, directors and production assistants on a seasonal and per event basis as necessary.
  • Oversee approx 30 game night staff per game; ensuring proper scheduling for all sporting events and concerts.
  • Work collaboratively with Venues Technical staff to maintain all equipment in the control room and GardenVision boards with the assistance of the GardenVision engineer.
  • Collaborate with internal departments, outside clients, sporting events and concerts regarding the technical requirements for GardenVision.
  • Faciltiate relationships with vendors to ensure the facilities are working properly and regular maintenance is taking place.
  • Coordinate with accounting department to ensure proper invoicing for GardenVision creative services and additional personnel to third party uses as necessary (Capex Opex PO/invoicing).

What do you need to succeed?

  • 8-10 years previous television production experience with studio, live and remote television production background preferred.
  • Experience supervising and instructing video editors in a post-production setting is essential.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Collective Bargaining Agreements (CBA) and the ability to manage both a non-union and unionized workforce.
  • Proficient with Windows, PC, Windows & Linux Server, Mac workstations, Symon, Daktronics, Harris, and White Way Display Systems.
  • Demonstrated experience with Adobe, Creative Cloud Suite (including but not limited to Adobe Premiere, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe illustrator) for video, as well as motion and still graphics production, and TV Production equipment (Audio mixing, video switching video routing, data processing and routing, modulation and distribution systems, and transport systems).
  • Must be able to multi-task and prioritize in a deadline-oriented environment
  • Demonstrates integrity, tact, diplomacy and a commitment to company values, and principles while using strong interpersonal skills.
  • Adept at maintaining a positive, open, approachable, and professional relationship with a diverse group and skilled at working collaboratively or on a team.
  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule inclusive of weekends, nights and holidays as required.

$113,000$180,000 USD
