The Director of Foundation and Corporate Giving will lead the strategic direction and execution of Target’s foundation and Twin Cities/Hometown philanthropic initiatives. This role is responsible for shaping and managing a comprehensive giving strategy that aligns with the company’s values and community impact goals. The Director will oversee the Target Foundation, drive signature philanthropic partnerships, and lead local giving efforts in the Twin Cities.
Key Responsibilities
Foundation Leadership: Oversee the operations and governance of the Target Foundation, including grantmaking, board engagement, compliance, and impact measurement. Lead and develop a high-performing team to deliver on the Foundation’s mission.
Twin Cities/Hometown Strategy: Design and execute a comprehensive giving strategy for the Twin Cities and other hometown markets, integrating the work of the Target Foundation, local sponsorships, and signature philanthropic partnerships.
Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders—including senior leadership, nonprofit partners, and community leaders—to ensure alignment and maximize impact.
Measurement & Reporting: Establish metrics and reporting frameworks to evaluate the effectiveness of philanthropic investments and communicate impact to stakeholders.
Team Leadership: Manage and mentor a team of professionals, fostering a culture of innovation, accountability, and inclusion.

Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in nonprofit management, public affairs, business, or a related field (Master’s preferred)
10+ years of experience in corporate philanthropy, foundation leadership, or nonprofit strategy
Proven track record of developing and executing large-scale philanthropic strategies
Strong understanding of governance, compliance, and best practices in foundation management
Exceptional leadership, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills
Deep knowledge of the philanthropic landscape in the Twin Cities and nationally
This position will operate as a Hybrid/Flex for Your Day work arrangement based on Target’s needs. A Hybrid/Flex for Your Day work arrangement means the team member’s core role will need to be performed both onsite at the Target HQ MN location the role is assigned to and virtually, depending upon what your role, team and tasks require for that day.
