Job Description

The Business Development Director for Wholesale is a strategic leader responsible for architecting the long-term commercial vision for the Wholesale business. This role serves as the primary engine for growth by identifying, validating, and building the business case for new "whitespace" market opportunities.

The individual will spearhead the initial commercial validation of all new concepts, ensuring market viability and strategic fit before handing off to the Product and Engineering teams for technical development.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Wholesale Market Strategy & Opportunity Analysis

  • Translate the overarching B2B strategic framework (provided by Strategy Management & Biz Investment) into a long-term commercial strategy for the Wholesale domain.

  • Identify and Qualify new "whitespace" growth opportunities through market analysis, acting as the primary source of validated wholesale market intelligence for all internal teams.

  • Drives opportunities from concept to launch, ensuring the telco stays competitive with innovative wholesale offerings.

  • Commercial Validation & Business Case Development

  • Lead the initial commercial validation for new concepts to answer the question, "Is this a viable business opportunity?"

  • Deliver fully-vetted business cases that confirm market viability, revenue potential, and strategic fit, representing the formal handoff point to the Product team for technical development.

  • Initiate and manage pilot programs with customers to test commercial assumptions, not technical functionality.

  • Strategic Commercial Partnership Development

  • Identify, structure, and negotiate commercially-focused partnerships (e.g., co-selling, new channels, GTM alliances) that create new revenue paths, as distinct from the technical integration partnerships owned by Product/Engineering.

  • Provide Foundational Inputs for Go-to-Market (GTM) Strategy

  • Provide the foundational strategic inputs (target market, core value proposition, competitive positioning) to the Product and Marketing teams, who then own the creation and execution of the detailed GTM and marketing plans.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • 8-10 years of proven experience in Management, Telco, Fintech, or related field

  • Experienced in business opportunities development, business presentations, risk and change management, data analysis, interpretation, market research, and strategy development and integration.

  •  Bachelor's Degree in related fields such as Business Administration, Marketing, Management or relevant industry specific degree.

  • Preferably a Master's Degree such as an MBA or with industry specific certifications
