Role Overview

We are seeking a Director – Finance AI & Automation to lead the transformation of our global finance organization into a modern, intelligent, and highly automated function.

This leader will combine deep core finance expertise (controllership, FP&A, treasury, tax, AP/AR, payroll) with deep business process understanding and systems acumen to help design and implement scalable automation and AI-driven workflows across finance, in partnership with Product and Engineering teams of the CIO organization. The leader will be responsible for defining the Business Architecture for the Finance function and key business rules on which systems are planned & run.

 

The mandate is ambitious:

 

  • Digitize and simplify finance processes
  • Build agentic, AI-enabled workflows
  • Reduce manual intervention
  • Improve control, accuracy, and speed
  • Elevate finance from transactional execution to strategic insight

 

This role reports directly to the CFO and partners closely with the CIO to re-architect finance systems, data flows, and operational models. And

Key Responsibilities

  1. Finance Process Modernization
  • Assess end-to-end finance processes (R2R, P2P, O2C, FP&A, treasury, payroll, tax)
  • Identify automation, control, and scalability opportunities
  • Redesign workflows for efficiency, control, and reduced manual touchpoints
  • Standardize global processes and documentation
  • Develop Business Requirements Documents/ equivalent - to enable the required solution build out.  
  • Enable clarifications / provide needed support during design, development phase and UAT phases to enable successful implementations.  
  • Define business KPI’s/ business value measurement of Technology initiatives, in partnership with CIO Org.

 

  1. AI & Agentic Workflow Strategy
  • Design and deploy AI-enabled finance workflows (reconciliations, variance analysis, cash forecasting, anomaly detection, expense review, accrual support, etc.)
  • Develop roadmap toward “agentic finance operations” with human-in-the-loop, and human-in-the-lead governance practices.
  • Evaluate and implement AI tools, RPA platforms, and workflow automation solutions
  1. Systems & Data Architecture Partnership
  • Partner with CIO and enterprise systems team on ERP optimization and integrations
  • Help Improve data pipelines between ERP, CRM, HRIS, and BI systems
  • Lead finance requirements for system upgrades, AI tools, and automation platforms
  • Help Build scalable data models to enable real-time finance analytics
  1. Operational Excellence & Controls
  • Improve month-end close timelines and accuracy
  • Automate reconciliations and reporting
  • Strengthen internal controls through automation and monitoring
  • Implement intelligent dashboards for CFO-level visibility
  1. Change Management & Capability Building
  • Build internal capability in AI-enabled finance
  • Train finance teams on automation tools and new workflows
  • Drive cultural shift from manual processing to analytical value creation

Ideal Candidate Profile

Finance Depth

10–15+ years of progressive experience in finance, including exposure to multiple areas such as:

  • Controllership
  • FP&A
  • Treasury
  • AP/AR
  • Payroll
  • Tax

Experience in a high-growth or global organization preferred.
CA / CPA / MBA (Finance) strongly preferred; would like make it mandatory

Systems Expertise

  • At least 7-8 years experience in defining Finance business processes & Business Architecture. And implementing or optimizing ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, etc.); SAP expertise strongly preferred.
  • Strong understanding of workflow automation and RPA tools
  • Exposure to AI/ML applications in finance
  • Familiarity with data tools (SQL, BI platforms, data modeling concepts)
  • Expertise in linkage of business KPIs to systems implementation and impact/ outcomes expected.
  • Experience designing scalable finance systems and process architecture; Partnering with CIO organization to deliver systems.

Strategic & Leadership Capability

  • Ability to operate at both strategic and operational levels
  • Strong cross-functional collaboration skills
  • Executive presence to work directly with CFO and CIO
  • Proven change management experience
  • Comfort leading transformation in a matrixed organization
