What you'll be doing

Reporting to the Sr. Director, Enterprise Client Data Management & Strategy, the Director, Enterprise Client Data Strategy & Insights will play a critical leadership role in shaping the direction and success of CIBC’s enterprise platforms, including EDGE, ECIF, and CIW. You will provide business direction, advice, and support for key decisions and recommendations that impact these platforms, ensuring alignment with the bank’s strategic priorities.

As a trusted advisor and subject matter expert, you will deliver highly specialized analytics, consultation, and assistance to influence and lead the development of strategies and programs that advance our enterprise data platforms. Your work will directly enable CIBC to leverage data as a strategic asset, driving innovation, operational efficiency, and enhanced client experiences.

At CIBC we enable the work environment most optimal for you to thrive in your role. You’ll have the flexibility to manage your work activities within a hybrid work arrangement where you’ll spend 1-3 days per week on-site, while other days will be remote

How you will succeed

  • Business Direction & Strategic Support- Lead, advise, and support key decisions and recommendations for enterprise platform initiatives, ensuring business objectives are met and platforms are optimized for performance and scalability. Analytics & Insights- Provide highly specialized analytics and consultation, leveraging advanced data analysis (including SQL) and data visualization to communicate complex insights and guide strategic roadmaps for EDGE, ECIF, CIW, and related platforms.
  • Cross-Functional Leadership- Collaborate with Technology, Information Security, AML Compliance, and other cross-functional partners to ensure platform initiatives meet infrastructure, privacy, data governance, and technological requirements.
  • People Management & Leadership- Create and sustain a high-performing, inspired workplace consistent with CIBC’s values. Champion coaching, recognize great work, manage career and succession planning, and attract/develop top talent.
  • Strategic Thinking- Take a holistic view of client data and enterprise platform initiatives. Provide insights, recommendations, and direction informed by CIBC’s vision, business needs, KPIs, and industry trends.
  • Operations Management- Oversee day-to-day business operations of ECIF, EDH, and EDGE. Ensure client escalations are resolved quickly and accurately, monitor exception reports, identify trends, and address system defects or bugs efficiently.
  • Governance & Stewardship- Act as a delegate data owner or data steward, directing governance for priorities, objectives, and platform enhancements in partnership with lines of business and technology teams.
