Job Description

What is the opportunity?

As part of Chief Data Office, Enterprise Client Data team, the Director, Enterprise Client Data Strategy you will drive RBC`s client data ambition working closely with CDO, Business Platforms and functional partners.

You will be responsible to help drive the overall Enterprise Client Data program, from strategy to roadmap, business case and investments portfolio.  You will lead the facilitation of the Client Data Enable forum and business engagements to enable cross-segment collaboration, coordination, and “cross pollination”/reuse of use cases.

Additionally, you will help Expand the Enterprise Client Data Strategy to incorporate and address counterparty and other party relationship needs across RBC.

What will you do?

Enterprise Client Data Strategy:

  • Design and maintain a comprehensive Enterprise Client Data Strategy with appropriate stakeholders
  • Develop and maintain a business case and an investment roadmap for Enterprise Client Data ensuring appropriate targeted investment
  • Define and measure KPIs to demonstrate progress and value created through client data
  • Track emerging innovations and competitive practices related to Client Data
  • Maintain a pipeline / backlog of offerings and potential data products working with key stakeholders across the bank
  • Lead Client/Counterparty Data Issues review forum
  • Expanded Strategy to address counterparty and other party relationships needs for RBC

Strategic Initiatives

  • Coordinate the development and maintenance of the portfolio of Enterprise Client Data products and initiatives
  • Act as a COE for Business and Functional Partners in the context of Cross-Platform client data sharing / usage
  • Oversee the delivery of prioritized ‘Proof-of-Value’ initiatives in partnership with the CDO and Platform Data teams
  • Works closely with Data Product Owners to develop long term product Visions, ensuring strategic alignment and support business / stakeholder engagement where required

Engagement & Communication

  • Lead the delivery of the Enterprise Client Data Enablement Forum, working with Platform partners to understand, document and identify opportunities to enable their Cross-Platform Client Data needs
  • Participate in relevant Enterprise & LOB forums as a delegate and advocate for the ECD program
  • Help the overall change management journey towards data centricity working with communication to tell the ‘Enterprise client data story’

What do you need to succeed?

Must-have

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • 7 or more years of Financial Services experience
  • 7 or more years of experience in a Strategy, Portfolio, Project and/or Product management related role(s)
  • Exceptional leadership and stakeholder management skills with impact and influence to drive outcomes
  • Experience in developing client data solutions and processes
  • Strong knowledge of strategy, and business casing
  • Significant knowledge and understanding of Client data and Client lifecycle management
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with executives and senior leadership
  • Experience managing strategy teams and engagements

Nice-to-have

  • Ability to effectively gather stakeholder needs and problem statements and translate them into workable solutions and initiatives
  • Experience with strategic thinking, competitive research and analysis
  • Strong knowledge of portfolio management and scorecard tracking with a value creation perspective
  • Strong collaboration and partnership / relationship management skills with the ability to manage ambiguity
  • Effective time management, multi-tasking and organizational skills to meet tight timeframes as well as flexibility to adapt to changing priorities
  • Works strategically, stretching beyond traditional information management practices, leveraging industry leading and innovative approaches to solving data challenges
  • Experience in Agile / Product Ownership
  • Credit risk, counterparty risk, market risk understanding
