About this role

PFS is seeking an Executive Director to lead and expand the firm’s Indiabased Data & Analytics organization. This individual will be responsible for building, scaling, and managing a highperforming team in Mumbai while driving the firm’s global data strategy, architecture, engineering, and reporting capabilities. 

The Executive Director will partner closely with Portfolio Management, Operations, Finance, Risk, Investor Relations, Technology leadership, and external vendors to deliver missioncritical data products and modernize PFS’s enterprise data ecosystem. In addition, this role will play a key part in enabling PFS’s AI and advanced analytics capabilities by building AIready data foundations, supporting generative AI use cases, ensuring responsible, governed use of AI across the firm.  

 

Responsibilities 

Leadership & Team BuildOut

  • Build, manage, and grow the India Data & Analytics team, establishing Mumbai as a core global delivery hub. 

  • Drive recruiting, onboarding, mentoring, performance management, and leadership development. 

  • Develop organizational structure, operating model, and succession planning for Indiabased teams. 

Program Delivery 

  • Oversee endtoend delivery of enterprisegrade data applications, including requirements, analysis, design, development, testing, deployment, and ongoing support. 

  • Deliver analytics and reporting solutions supporting Senior Management, Investor Relations, Business Development, Front Office PMs/Analysts/Traders, Risk, Operations, and Finance. 

  • Integrate thirdparty platforms and vendor systems into PFS’s internal data architecture. 

  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with external vendors, ensuring effective collaboration, service quality, and alignment with data strategy. 

Strategy & Architecture 

  • Own the evolution of PFS’s global data architecture, ensuring scalability, resiliency, and alignment with business growth. 

  • Lead the design and implementation of modern data platforms, data pipelines, governance frameworks, metadata, lineage, observability, and quality controls. 

  • Drive architectural modernization across Snowflake, Azure, BI platforms, and other data ecosystems. 

 

  CrossFunctional Partnership 

  • Represent the India Data & Analytics organization in crossfunctional planning forums. 

  • Partner with fronttoback business teams - including Portfolio Management, Risk, Operations, Finance, Legal, Compliance, IR, and Technology leadership to define and execute data needs. 

 

  Operational Excellence 

  • Establish and refine offshore–onshore workflows ensuring quality, predictability, and efficiency. 

  • Drive continuous improvement through automation, best practices, and ongoing process optimization. 

 

Candidate Profile  

  • 12+ years of experience in financial services technology, with significant leadership responsibilities.  

  • Deep expertise in data architecture, data engineering, and enterprise data warehousing.  

  • Strong expertise in Snowflake, Azure Synapse, Databricks, or similar cloud data platforms.  

  • Additional experience with Coalesce/DBT, Azure Synapse, Azure Data Factory or related technologies. 

  • Outstanding SQL and data modeling skills; strong understanding of data quality, metadata, lineage, and distributed systems.  

  • Experience with Sigma, Microsoft BI ecosystem (Power BI, SSRS, Power Apps) or similar technologies 

  •  Support adoption of generative AI for data exploration, analytics, and reporting workflows (e.g., natural language querying, automated insights, narrative reporting). 

  •  Establish governance, controls, and best practices for AI usage, including model inputs, data quality, explainability, lineage, and regulatory considerations. 

  • Collaborate with Technology leadership on evaluation and integration of AI platforms, cloud-native AI services, and vendor solutions. 

  •  Ensure AI initiatives align with PFS’s data security, privacy, and compliance standards. 

  • Familiarity with creditrelated asset classes (bank loans, bonds, CLOs, credit derivatives, FX forwards).  

  • Proven ability to build and scale offshore/onshore hybrid teams.  

  • Excellent communication and stakeholdermanagement skills.  

  • High degree of professionalism, integrity, and business ethics. 

  • Prior experience managing vendor relationships and contracts is a plus. 

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, Engineering, or related field  

  • Degree from a TierI engineering institute (IIT / NIT / BITS / equivalent) preferred
