Role Summary:

We are seeking a dynamic and strategic Custom Applications Leader to spearhead the delivery of innovative application solutions across a diverse client portfolio. This role combines delivery excellence, business growth, and executive relationship management, requiring a leader who thrives in a fast-paced, growth-oriented environment and can manage high-stakes engagements with CXO-level stakeholders.

The ideal candidate will bring a growth mindset, a passion for innovation including experience driving AI/GenAI solutions at scale, and a proven track record of leading a large-scale custom application practice and teams across multiple industries. This leader will be accountable for delivery performance, client satisfaction, revenue growth, and margin optimization, while building and nurturing a high-performing global team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Delivery Leadership: Drive successful execution of custom application projects, ensuring high quality, on-time, and within-budget outcomes. Implement delivery excellence processes to ensure proactive identification and mitigation of risk, service level and contract compliance.
  • Operational Efficiency: Lead and own operational efficiency initiatives and execution discipline to drive margin improvement across key levers, including utilization and billability, bench optimization, overhead management, and cost control. Champion the adoption of AI and automation to unlock new productivity opportunities and achieve margin improvement.
  • Client Engagement: Build and maintain trusted relationships with senior client stakeholders (CIOs, CTOs, and other CXOs), acting as a strategic advisor.
  • Growth Enablement: Partner with sales and account teams to identify new opportunities, shape proposals, and accelerate revenue growth. Drive proactive proposals, AI/GenAI adoption and referenceable client engagements. Lead Client presentations/orals and mentor delivery leaders, SME’s, architects to drive growth related discussions.
  • Financial Accountability: Own financial performance for the portfolio, delivery P&L including, TCV, Revenue and Direct Margin achievement. Ensure execution discipline including forecast accuracy, cost management, margin improvement and profitability.
  • Team Leadership: Lead, mentor, and grow a diverse team of delivery managers, architects, and engineers, fostering a culture of excellence.
  • Industry Expertise: Leverage experience across Finance, Telecom, Media, Technology, Healthcare, Retail, Manufacturing, Logistics, Energy & Utilities to tailor solutions for unique client needs.
  • Innovation: Champion adoption of modern development practices (Agile, DevOps, Cloud-native architectures) and drive adoption of emerging technologies (AI/GenAI, low-code platforms, digital transformation).

Qualifications

  • 20+ years in IT services or consulting, with 10+ years in leadership roles focused on custom application delivery.
  • Proven ability to manage large, complex engagements with Fortune 500 clients.
  • Strong understanding of modern application development practices, modernization, and AI/GenAI transformation.
  • Demonstrated success in driving revenue growth and improving delivery margins.
  • Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills, especially at the executive level.
  • Experience working across multiple industries and global geographies.
  • Strong people management and team-building capabilities.
  • MBA or equivalent business/technical degree preferred.

Compensation at DXC is influenced by an array of factors, including but not limited to the experience, job-related knowledge, skills, competencies, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. A reasonable estimate of the current compensation range for this position is $139,200 - $289,000.
