Job Title: Director – Government & State Affairs

Role Summary
Leads Government and State Affairs strategy to shape policy, regulatory, and market access outcomes aligned to business priorities. Owns senior stakeholder engagement and translates external developments into clear commercial impact and action.
Key Responsibilities
Define and execute Government Affairs strategy aligned to business and market access priorities
Build and manage senior relationships with central and state government stakeholders, regulators, and industry bodies
Track, assess, and influence legislative and policy developments impacting pricing, access, and regulatory frameworks
Advise leadership on policy risks, opportunities, and external environment shifts
Partner with cross-functional teams including commercial, medical, legal, and corporate affairs to drive aligned execution
Lead issue management and ensure proactive mitigation of policy and regulatory risks
Optimize deployment of resources in alignment with regional and global Government Affairs priorities
Represent the organization in external forums, industry associations, and policy platforms
Lead, coach, and develop a high-performing team, ensuring strong succession planning
Qualifications & Experience
Essential
Extensive experience in Government Affairs, public policy, or regulatory roles within pharma or healthcare
Strong understanding of policy, legislative, and regulatory ecosystems, including pricing and market access
Demonstrated ability to influence senior government and regulatory stakeholders
Strong commercial acumen with the ability to translate policy into business impact
Experience operating in complex, matrixed organizations
Proven leadership experience managing teams
Desirable
Advanced degree (MBA, MPH, Public Policy, or equivalent)
Experience within government, regulatory bodies, or industry associations
Exposure to global or multi-market environments
Understanding of competitive landscape and brand-level policy impact
