Director, Cigna Pharmacy Client Pricing

Role Overview:

This role is on the Cigna Pharmacy Finance team supporting Cigna Healthcare integrated pharmacy members in US Employer and IFP. Specifically, this Director will collaborate with Finance, Sales and Operational leadership to define the client pricing management strategies and manage a team responsible for executing those client pricing initiatives while optimizing opportunities for innovation, automation, and operational excellence.

Responsibilities:

Pricing Methodology:

  • Lead the client MAC pricing and Specialty pricing methodologies, including model development, scenario analysis, and operational rollout, to optimize financial outcomes for the business and support key strategic initiatives

  • Drive enhancements to pricing methodologies by partnering with matrix partners in designing and implementing innovative pricing strategies and by deriving insights from claim experience and competitive intelligence.

  • Support the development and implementation of innovative pricing solutions in support of new Cigna Pharmacy programs and initiatives including PBM 3.0., transparency pricing, etc.

Pricing Management:

  • Own the end-to-end modeling and operational implementation of discount performance guarantees management for Cigna clients, enabling accurate forecasting and achievement of financial commitments.

  • Direct the design, execution, and performance management of drug pricing strategies to support enterprise earnings targets while ensuring full compliance with client contractual commitments.

  • Partner with the U.S. Employer, Pharmacy Pricing and Pharmacy FP&A teams to set discount targets for the Facets commercial book of business and lead cross-functional implementation efforts to deliver full-year discount performance within targets.

Business Partnerships and Team Leadership:

  • Present impact of various client pricing strategies to Pharmacy Finance, Sales, Product and Pricing leadership to drive consensus on the strategies and initiatives to implement.

  • Connect client pricing management insights to financial results and consult with the Pharmacy FP&A team on potential impacts to projections.

  • Work closely with the Pharmacy Pricing team in deriving insights that can lead to improvements in the Pricing and Underwriting tools.

  • Collaborate with matrix partners in assessing, developing, and implementing innovative client pricing solutions.

  • Create a supportive team environment that emphasizes learning, sharing, continual improvement, regular feedback, support for exam progress, and ongoing career counseling.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Information Management or related field strongly preferred

  • 8+ years of financial analysis experience

  • Experience leading and developing a team

  • Experience with data analysis, data management, process management and/or Pharmacy is preferred

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

  • Ability to travel as needed – likely 1 week/quarter

  • Ability to foster collaboration and thrive in a heavily matrixed and highly dynamic environment

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

  • Strong proficiency in Excel and Office suite; experience with R, Databricks, Python, data management tools a plus


If you will be working at home occasionally or permanently, the internet connection must be obtained through a cable broadband or fiber optic internet service provider with speeds of at least 10Mbps download/5Mbps upload.

For this position, we anticipate offering an annual salary of 150,700 - 251,100 USD / yearly, depending on relevant factors, including experience and geographic location.

This role is also anticipated to be eligible to participate in an annual bonus and long term incentive plan.
