The CenterWell Customer Experience (CX) team is seeking a forward-thinking product leader to pioneer our cross-CenterWell AI portfolio and drive intelligent solutions that enhance patient care and clinical effectiveness. This role will partner closely with the automation portfolio team, technical developers (data science and IT), segment product and operations teams to build AI capabilities across business lines.
As Director, you’ll navigate the uniqueness of deploying AI in healthcare – balancing innovating velocity with patient safety, building trust in AI-driven recommendations, and stewarding a portfolio that spans early-stage experimentation through scaled deployment. You will lead development and maintenance of the CenterWell AI roadmap, spearheading cross-segment pilots, and demonstrating measurable value through rigorous tracking and reporting. Success requires both strategic vision to see where AI can transform clinical operations and pragmatic judgement to deploy it responsibly and effectively.
AI Portfolio Strategy & Innovation
- Own the CenterWell AI portfolio strategy and multi-year roadmap, balancing experimental innovation and proven, scalable solutions as well as company-wide opportunities with segment-specific needs
- Translate complex business cases into clearly articulate value, technical capabilities and resource requirements
- Conduct market research to stay current on AI advancements in healthcare, evaluating emerging technologies and vendors for potential application
- Collaborate across the AI landscape on use cases where traditional AI/ML, automation and generative AI approaches are used together to form cohesive solutions
Partnership & Trust-Building
- Build credibility and trust with leaders and end-users through transparency, collaboration, proactive AI literacy building, and demonstrated value
- Design and lead cross-segment pilot programs with testing protocols that validates both technical performance and utility
- Partner closely with domain experts to ensure AI solutions are grounded in real workflow needs and deliver measurable improvements
- Maintain clarity and accountability around AI limitations and risks, proactively addressing concerns around model accuracy, bias, and appropriate use cases
Technical Product Leadership & Delivery
- Demonstrate strong technical acumen in AI/ML approaches, understanding model architecture, training methodologies, and evaluation metrics well enough to guide product decisions and evaluate technical proposals
- Manage a business-aligned AI backlog, prioritizing use cases based on characteristics such as impact, technical complexity, and organizational capacity
- Set clear targets and success metrics for AI portfolio; establish tracking and reporting mechanisms to demonstrate value and ROI to executive stakeholders
- Partner with data science and IT teams to ensure AI solutions are built for production use at the pilot and maintenance stages
Team Development & Product Quality
- Mentor a team of product managers, developing their capabilities in product management, stakeholder engagement and the complexities of healthcare AI
- Foster a learning culture that stays current on AI advancement while maintaining healthy skepticism and focus on demonstrable value
- Champion AI product management maturity across segment teams through structured upskilling, shared playbooks and embedded guidance
- Drive end-to-end ownership of AI products from ideation through validation, deployment and sustained adoption with ongoing performance monitoring; fully support hand-off when maintenance owned by other teams
Use your skills to make an impact
Qualifications
- 8+ years in AI/ML product management, technical solution development, or related fields, with demonstrated progression in scope and impact
- 5+ years of people management expertise, including building and developing product or technical teams
- Strong technical foundation in AL/ML technologies, including understanding of different model types, training and evaluation approaches, and product deployment considerations
- Experience driving organizational change and AI adoption, building stakeholder engagement and trust in AI-driven tools
- Track record of navigating AI governance, model validation and regulatory considerations, with awareness of healthcare specific requirements
- Proven product leadership combining strong technical judgement with business acumen – able to evaluate AI opportunities, manage complex roadmaps, translate technical capabilities into value, and balance visionary thinking with validation
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience deploying AI solutions within healthcare operations, clinical workflows, or health system environments, with understanding of care delivery models and operational challenges
- Familiarity with healthcare data ecosystems, including EHR systems and interoperability standards
- Track record of developing product managers in AI/ML product disciplines
Travel: While this is a remote position, occasional travel to Humana's offices for training or meetings may be required.

Pay Range
The compensation range below reflects a good faith estimate of starting base pay for full time (40 hours per week) employment at the time of posting. The pay range may be higher or lower based on geographic location and individual pay will vary based on demonstrated job related skills, knowledge, experience, education, certifications, etc.
$168,000 - $231,000 per year
This job is eligible for a bonus incentive plan. This incentive opportunity is based upon company and/or individual performance.
