Overview:

We are seeking a strategic Director, Audience Insights to join our US Insulins & Established Products Digital Marketing team. This role is pivotal in ensuring that the voice of our customers—both Healthcare Professionals (HCPs) and patients—is at the center of our digital marketing strategy and execution. 

You will lead efforts to capture, synthesize, and activate market research and behavioral data to inform compelling messaging, optimize digital marketing tactics, and enhance the overall customer experience. As a critical bridge between the Digital Marketing team, Commercial & Brand Leads, Patient Support Services, and Patient Advocacy teams, you will ensure alignment and cohesion across customer-facing initiatives.

Main Responsibilities:

Voice of Customer Strategy & Insights

  • Design and lead a comprehensive Voice of Customer (VoC) program to continuously capture insights on HCP and patient behaviors, needs, preferences, and pain points 

  • Drive data gathering, analysis, and interpretation of quantitative and qualitative data, Market Research readouts, UATs, and surveys through third-party organizations 

  • Translate complex data into actionable insights and strategic recommendations for digital marketing campaigns and content development 

  • Monitor and report on evolving customer trends, competitive dynamics, and market shifts within multiple therapeutic area landscapes 

Digital Marketing Optimization 

  • Inform digital marketing leads with directional data to ensure messaging, creative, and channel strategies are grounded in customer insights 

  • Leverage behavioral data and customer journey mapping to optimize targeting, personalization, and engagement tactics across digital channels (web, email, social, programmatic, etc.) 

  • Champion A/B testing and continuous improvement methodologies informed by customer feedback and performance data 

  • Develop customer segmentation frameworks to enable more relevant and impactful marketing communications 

Cross-Functional Partnership & Integration 

  • Serve as the primary liaison between Digital Marketing, Patient Support Services, and Patient Advocacy teams to ensure a unified and seamless customer experience 

  • Build and shape regular insight-sharing sessions and workshops to align stakeholders on customer needs and opportunities 

  • Partner with Patient Advocacy to incorporate patient community perspectives into marketing strategies and ensure authentic, empathetic messaging 

  • Architect opportunities with Patient Support for digital touchpoints that enhance patient education, adherence, and overall experience 

Stakeholder Engagement & Communication 

  • Present insights and recommendations to senior leadership, translating data into compelling narratives that drive decision-making 

  • Build and maintain relationships with external research vendors, agencies, and technology partners 

  • Advocate for customer-centricity across the organization and champion best practices in VoC methodologies 

 

About You

Qualifications:

Required:

  • Bachelor's degree.

  • 10+ years of experience in pharmaceutical/biotech marketing, market research, or customer insights roles 

  • 5+ years in digital marketing or digital strategy within the healthcare/pharmaceutical industry 

  • Proven experience translating market research and customer data into actionable marketing strategies 

  • Strong understanding of HCP and patient engagement dynamics in the US healthcare ecosystem 

  • Experience working with patient support programs and/or patient advocacy organizations 

  • Excellent analytical skills with proficiency in data visualization and insights platforms 

  • Outstanding communication and presentation skills with ability to influence cross-functional stakeholders 

  • Travel <10%

Preferred:

  • MBA or advanced degree in a relevant field 

  • Experience in diabetes, endocrinology, or established products/mature brands 

  • Familiarity with digital analytics tools (Adobe Analytics, Google Analytics), CRM platforms, and marketing automation systems 

  • Experience with primary market research methodologies (qualitative and quantitative) 

  • Knowledge of regulatory and compliance considerations in pharmaceutical marketing

The salary range for this position is:

$178,500.00 - $257,833.33
