DIRECTOR, ASIA-PACIFIC ENTERPRISE SALES (STARLINK)

Starlink is the world’s most advanced constellation of Low Earth Orbit (LEO) satellites providing reliable, high-speed and low-latency broadband internet. Our 9,000+ satellite constellation provides internet from space to over 9 million customers on earth across more than 160 markets. Starlink Global Enterprise Sales is a rapid-growth division of SpaceX enabling business continuity through fixed, mobile and portable use cases in both urban and rural locations.

The Starlink Enterprise Sales team is hiring a results driven Director of Sales to support Starlink’s adoption across the Asia-Pacific region. Starlink brings an unprecedented opportunity to significantly impact communities, businesses, and governments worldwide. The role requires personal drive to identify opportunities within the region, develop the necessary relationships, build out a sales team, and ultimately sign deals that will have immediate impact. 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Hire, develop, and retain a high performing team
  • Oversee the strategic and tactical execution of Starlink Enterprise Sales within the Asia-Pacific region
  • Lead a team of Sales professionals to ensure all sales quotas are met, as well as steering them to continuously improve
  • Meet your revenue targets – you should always be looking for opportunities for Starlink to make an impact
  • Identify and secure new enterprise customers, both directly and indirectly through Starlink’s channel. This requires the establishment of relationships with the key decision makers and influencers in the various organizations, understanding their current and future needs, and working to find the right Starlink product for them
  • Identify and lead sales cycles on large government-based projects for key use cases, including education, healthcare, and community Wi-Fi
  • Identify opportunities for alternative go-to-market strategies and be able to defend them internally
  • Work in partnership with our market access, government affairs, finance and legal teams
  • Gather customer requirements and work with the product engineering team to iterate on and improve Starlink product offerings
  • Represent Starlink at regional conferences and events

BASIC REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 10+ years of professional experience in business development or sales
  • 5+ years of leadership experience managing and leading direct and indirect reports

PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Demonstrated success scaling a high impact sales team
  • Independently motivated self-starter, with a demonstrated track record of project ownership
  • Strong sales leadership track record with the ability to consistently meet or exceed revenue targets.
  • Strong interpersonal, presentation, and negotiation skills
  • Strong analytical skills in business and technical issues
  • Highly detail oriented, diligent, and hard-working with excellent customer interface skills
  • Sufficient knowledge of Starlink’s network infrastructure to communicate to customers
  • Experience working with cross-functional teams and external customers

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Must be available to work extended hours and weekends as needed
  • Willingness to travel approximately 50% of the time to customer locations and other SpaceX locations
