About The Role

SoFi is seeking a highly analytical, strategic Direct Mail leader to own audience strategy, targeting, and performance optimization across our Direct Mail channel.

This individual will drive the data strategy behind our campaigns — defining who we target, how we measure success, and how we continuously improve performance. They will translate business goals into measurable targeting frameworks, partner cross-functionally to bring strategies to market, and deliver clear, actionable reporting that informs leadership decisions.

This role requires a self-starter who can operate independently, influence stakeholders, and drive measurable business impact in a fast-paced, growth-oriented environment.

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience in marketing, campaign strategy, or related Account Management field
  • Experience leading targeting strategy and performance analysis for marketing campaigns (Direct Mail preferred)
  • Strong analytical skills with experience working in Tableau and AI reporting tools
  • Demonstrated ability to translate data into strategic recommendations
  • Experience working cross-functionally with Data Science, Marketing, and Product teams
  • Financial services or credit experience preferred

Personal Characteristics:

  • Operates with high ownership and accountability; takes full responsibility for outcomes, not just deliverables
  • Comfortable making data-driven decisions in ambiguity
  • Influences cross-functional stakeholders through clear communication and structured thinking
  • Proactively identifies opportunities for optimization and challenges the status quo
  • Thrives in a fast-paced, high-growth environment and adapts quickly to change
  • Balances strategic thinking with strong execution discipline
  • Demonstrates intellectual curiosity and a continuous improvement mindset
  • Passionate about financial products and improving member outcomes

Core Responsibilities

This role owns three key pillars:

1. Direct Mail Targeting & Audience Strategy

  • Own end-to-end targeting strategy across prospect and member audiences
  • Develop and evolve segmentation frameworks to drive improvements in response and other key KPIs
  • Partner with Marketing Data Science team to define TAM sizing and performance expectations for each campaign
  • Design and implement structured test-and-learn recommendations (holdouts, champion/challenger testing, incrementality analysis)
  • Monitor product updates, risk changes, and competitive trends that may impact audience strategy
  • Influence and gain alignment from cross-functional stakeholders on campaign roadmaps

2. Campaign Planning & Execution Leadership

  • Translate approved targeting strategies into executable campaign plans
  • Ensure audience definitions, selection criteria, and data requirements are accurately implemented
  • Partner closely with Data Science, Lifecycle, Martech, Engineering, and Project Management to bring Direct Mail campaigns to market
  • Identify risks early and proactively adjust plans to protect performance
  • Serve as the primary owner of targeting-related decisions within Direct Mail

3. Attribution, Reporting & Performance Optimization

  • Establish performance baselines and forecast expected outcomes
  • Use AI-powered analysis and automation to enhance reporting, forecasting, and decision-making
  • Own campaign performance reporting across key KPI
  • Deliver weekly performance insights and monthly executive-ready readouts
  • Analyze audience-level performance trends and continuously refine targeting strategies using real-time insights to improve overall campaign results.
  • Proactively identify data-driven opportunities to optimize, expand, or adjust campaign strategies to maximize performance and ROI.

What Success Looks Like

  • Independently owns the Direct Mail targeting strategy workstream
  • Drives measurable improvements in campaign performance
  • Influences stakeholders without direct authority
  • Anticipates performance risks and proactively adjusts strategy
  • Establishes scalable frameworks, not just one-off analyses
  • Elevates reporting from descriptive to strategic and forward-looking
