Director, Business Development and Strategic Initiatives
The Director, Business Development & Strategic Initiatives plays a pivotal role in driving strategic growth initiatives leveraging external engagement and the ecosystem development within the aerospace and manufacturing environment. This leadership position serves as the primary liaison for corporate affairs, while driving business development opportunities that strengthen the organization’s industrial footprint, supply chain resilience, and long-term competitiveness.
Key tasks:
- Leverage and maximize available funding in each region for business development opportunities and/or strategic initiatives;
- Develop and own country strategy for all sites worldwide in collaboration with internal stakeholders like the operation team;
- Identify and pursue new business development opportunities aligned with defined corporate affairs and industrial strategies; leveraging insights from geopolitical, regulatory, and industry trends;
- Develop and structure mid to long-term local partnerships that reinforce key organizational priorities (innovation, workforce development, supply chain capability, operational excellence);
- Identify opportunities to enhance local sourcing, industrial participation and vertical integration within the aerospace value chain;
- Foster collaboration with suppliers, economic development agencies, training institutions, and local networks to support the organization supply chain development and workforce attraction.
- Translate corporate priorities into actionable program with defined milestones, KPIs, and measurable impact;
- Assess and maintain Enterprise Risk Management for geopolitical risk and align actions to mitigate those risks effectively;
- Support internal global trade organization for complicated export permits issues, and advocating for timely resolution;
- Follow funding contractual obligations, manage compliance to avoid risk and drive cross-departmental processes to meet those requirements;
- Monitor industry trends, competitive dynamics, regulatory and policy developments to inform senior leaderships decision-making;
- Ensure alignment between corporate messaging, strategic priorities, and external local engagement for all sites worldwide acting as a unifying voice for all representatives of the corporation;
- Serve as the primary liaison for corporate affairs matters, representing the organization with key internal (RTX, Collins, Raytheon) and external stakeholders;
- Develop and maintain a strategy of engagement with academic organizations mostly in Canada and in Poland in collaboration with local management team;
- Strengthen the organization’s visibility, reputation, and influence within the regional industrial ecosystem.
Qualification:
- 20+ years leadership experience in corporate affaires, business development, strategic assessment, or related fields.
- Strong understanding of market dynamics, stakeholder engagement, and partnership development.
- Demonstrated experience working with local supply chains, industry associations, or ecosystem stakeholders
- Great communication, influential leadership and presentation skills
- Proven ability to influence and operate in a complex environment
