Focus of the role
The Digital Content COE is a next generation content engine that has been built for scale, speed, automation and personalization. As a Digital Senior Copywriter in Telstra’s Content Group, you need to move beyond ‘writing words’ and act more like a content architect. You write with the intention of creating modular, reusable content that co-exists across multiple channels, delights customers and solves inherent customer needs. You have a bias for experimentation to test what works and think how your creative can be re-used for future use. Performance data and customer signals form the basis of all your decisions, and you purpose fit content to suit where the audience is consuming the information.
About the role
This role is strategic in nature yet execution-focused, operating with the freedom to write and test impact across various digital mediums and audiences. Yet the end goal is to output content within a high-volume studio environment without the constraints of long research and sprint cycles. You will incorporate various industry, audience and historical content performance data, testing messages, length and formats whilst meeting tight deadlines. Accuracy, brand compliance and consistency across all the touch points is critical, as is ensuring a cohesive tone and feel across our digital channels.
You will be part of a core Digital Content team that will experiment and embed the latest AI based visual design, video, copy tools and processes. You will have deep experience writing compelling copy that nudge individuals at various stages of the sales journey, as well as writing content that educates, encourages cross-sell/upsell and drives engagement and retention.

Develop content plan and structure for emails, landing pages, banners, articles, stories, search engines, marketplaces and other digital assets
Craft and test subject lines, pre-headers, and body copy aligned to broader communication strategies
Efficiency -optimizes for speed and volume; designs systems that can output hundreds/thousands of personalized variants
Impact – Write with an end goal in mind, and adopt an experimentation mindset,
recognizing content resonates differently across audiences, touch points and moments.
Create segmented campaign assets and personalized messaging variations
Manage multiple rounds of revisions and edits, incorporating stakeholder feedback
Ensure consistency, clarity, and compliance across all touchpoints
Maintain copy decks and contribute to content governance and QA processes
Contribute to the creation of a personalization and conversation matrix, and cross functional content library
Operate within Workfront and AEM workflows, attaching approved copy and tracking progress
Support the development of reusable content modules and templates
About you
You must have the required capability and experience listed below
Deep fluency in AI creation tools and developing content for search engines
Experience writing content across paid, owned and external channels
Experience building a content matrix to enable personalized, automated content at scale
Demonstrated ability to develop an effective content plan, and assessing the impact of the deliverable against core KPI’s
Proactive contribution to the evolution of core content hubs e.g. FAQ’s, Newsroom, etc.
Ability to design copy that can be used for experimentation purposes
Short-form, segmented and long form copywriting
Copy deck contribution to our DAM Corporate Style Guides
Workfront and AEM workflow familiarity
Collaboration with digital operate teams, design and experience teams
Compliance and accessibility awareness
Ability to create, revise and edit under deadline
