The Digital Engineer On-Call Casual Technical Professional will be responsible for supporting the replacement of the obsolete Analog Multiplexer (AMUX) Application-Specific Integrated Circuit (ASIC) for a Northrop Grumman legacy product. This includes involvement with the vendor throughout the life of the project. The candidate is expected to be a Subject Matter Expert (SME) in digital engineering. The candidate will possess strong communication skills as he or she will interface with our development program leads, senior scientists, engineering and manufacturing organizations throughout the program lifecycle.

Basic Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor's degree in a STEM field with 14 years of relevant experience, a Master's in a STEM field with 12 years of relevant experience, or a PhD in a STEM field with 10 years of relevant experience
  • Digital engineering subject matter expert with experience in Analog Multiplexers (AMUX) and Application-Specific Integrated Circuits (ASIC)
  • Working knowledge with gate level design and verification
  • Working knowledge with physical design and verification
  • Ability to generate List View Style/Design Rule Check Reports
  • Experience performing Wafter Sort and Die Qualification
  • Experience supporting all test documentation generation and testing
  • Experience supporting vendor qualification results review
  • US Citizenship
  • Ability to obtain/maintain a Secret Clearance within a timeframe acceptable to management.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with digital architecture, ASIC physical constraints and achieving timing closure, Formal Verification, Agile process, CI/CD design flow
  • Experience developing electronic subsystems, circuit boards, ASICs and/or FPGAs for aerospace and defense applications
  • Full product life cycle (design, implementation, and test) of ASIC Design
  • Is familiar with unique test requirements associated with military electronics such as extreme temperature testing
  • Experience with bus functional models
  • Active TS/SCI with poly security clearance
  • Working knowledge of standard test equipment: network analyzers, oscilloscopes, waveform generators, synthesizers, digitizers, and/or signal analyzers
  • Working knowledge of standard design components: filters, couplers, splitters, amplifiers, etc.
  • Familiarity with cryogenic test systems: dilution Refrigeration, 4 Kelvin cryo-coolers, Adiabatic Demagnetization Refrigeration (ADR) and liquid helium emersion

The salary range is based on a full-time schedule and will be prorated to the extent the schedule is reduced.

Primary Level Salary Range: $192,800.00 - $289,200.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
