Digital Engagement Office Assistant

Berklee College of Music - Boston Part time

In order to participate in Berklee Student Employment, a student must fulfill the following requirements:

  • Current student at Berklee College of Music or Boston Conservatory at Berklee.

  • Enrolled at least half-time in a degree, diploma, or certificate-seeking undergraduate or graduate program. Summer is the only semester in which a student can maintain employment without being enrolled. In this case, the student must be pre-registered for the upcoming fall semester. This exception does not apply to fall or spring semesters.

  • Have a valid United States Social Security Number (SSN).

  • Remain in “valid” Visa status as applicable.

  • A minimum 2.0 cumulative GPA. Students in their first semester can work, even though they do not have an official GPA until the completion of their first semester.

  • Federal Work Study student may apply.

  • In good disciplinary standing.

  • Must be located in the U.S.

Under the supervision of the Assistant Director of Digital Engagement for Alumni Affairs, the Digital Engagement Office Assistant will support the development and distribution of emails for the alumni community, and assist the Digital Engagement team with office logistics such as calendar, production, and event coordination. The ideal candidate is organized, a strong writer, and has excellent customer service skills. General knowledge of film, audio, and/or social media editing/production is a plus.

Duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Draft newsletter, event, and one-off emails to be sent to the alumni community

  • Proof emails before they are sent for final review

  • Pre-production outreach and research, including cold calls and emails

  • Coordination of interview and production schedules

  • Assist with setup and breakdown of interviews and film shoots

  • Support the general operation of Alumni Affairs when needed

Knowledge and Skills Desired: 

  • Strong written & verbal communication

  • Good people skills

  • Excellent organization skills

  • Strong sense of responsibility

  • Previous experience writing for a school newspaper, yearbook, or TV/media

  • Performing experience is a plus

Hourly Rate: Student Worker 2, $16.48/hour
