[What the role is]

We are seeking a dedicated Digital Accessibility Tester to join our team in improving the accessibility and inclusiveness of government digital services.

In this role, you will bring real-world expertise with assistive technologies to evaluate public service websites, ensuring they meet accessibility standards and deliver equitable experiences for all users.

You will work closely with designers, engineers, and product teams to identify barriers, provide clear remediation guidance, and uphold our commitment to human-centered accessibility.

[What you will be working on]

Conduct comprehensive manual accessibility audits across web platforms, evaluating digital experiences against Singapore's Digital Service Standards

  • Use your lived experience with assistive technologies to identify real-world usability issues that automated tools cannot detect

  • Document findings in clear, structured reports that can be understood by designers, engineers, QA testers, product owners, and non-technical stakeholders

  • Provide actionable remediation guidance grounded in WCAG criteria and practical user impact

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to communicate accessibility issues, demonstrate barriers, and support implementation of fixes

  • Participate in review sessions, walkthroughs, and client or stakeholder discussions to ensure alignment on accessibility outcomes

  • Work closely with the team to improve audit methodologies, testing processes, and accessibility standards within the organisation

  • Stay current with evolving accessibility trends, assistive technologies, and guidelines, including WCAG

  • Contribute to an inclusive culture by advocating for accessibility from both a technical and user-experience perspective

[What we are looking for]

  • Lived experience as a person with a vision disability and strong proficiency with using screen readers

  • Strong analytical and reporting skills, with experience synthesizing findings into structured, concise documentation

  • Excellent written communication skills, with the ability to articulate user impact, technical considerations, and remediation steps

Bonus

  • IAAP Web Accessibility Specialist (WAS) or related certification

  • Background in UX research or usability testing, particularly involving users with disabilities

  • Broad experience with multiple assistive technologies and devices

  • Ability to read and understand basic HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and ARIA usage in order to assess code-related accessibility issues

  • 2+ years of hands-on experience conducting manual accessibility audits in non-simulated environments

  • Strong understanding of Digital Service Standards or WCAG 2.1 A/AA requirements, with the ability to confidently evaluate and verify conformance

  • Familiarity with accessibility testing tools and methodologies, including both automated and manual testing approaches

  • Experience translating complex accessibility issues into clear, actionable guidance for both technical and non-technical stakeholders
