Position Overview
We are looking for a detail-oriented Ultra-Precision Diamond Turning Optical Technician to support our advanced optics manufacturing team. This position requires experience in CNC machining, optics, and metrology, with a strong focus on precision, accuracy, and quality. The right candidate will thrive in a collaborative environment and bring a passion for working with advanced technologies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operate and maintain ultra-precision diamond turning machines for optical component manufacturing
  • Set up, program, and troubleshoot CNC equipment for complex optics projects
  • Perform inspection and measurement of optical components using advanced metrology tools and techniques
  • Interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and technical requirements
  • Collaborate with engineering, quality, and production teams to ensure parts meet rigorous standards
  • Document processes, maintain accurate production records, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives

Qualifications

  • 2–3 years of hands-on experience with CNC machining and optics manufacturing
  • Strong knowledge of optical fabrication principles and metrology techniques
  • Familiarity with ultra-precision diamond turning equipment preferred
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, GD&T, and technical specifications
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
  • High attention to detail and commitment to producing exceptional quality work
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities

Pay Range:

  • $27 - $34/hr. based on experience
