Job Summary:
Performs diagnostic center x-rays and outreach phlebotomy services. Meets and greets patients who need ancillary services.

Job Description:
- Safely collects quality samples according to laboratory policies and procedures.
- Orders and stocks phlebotomy supplies and assists in monitoring radiology supplies.
- Must be proficient in all aspects of ordered X-ray procedures. This service provides diagnostic images for interpretation by the Radiologist.
- Operates all equipment in an effective, safe and efficient manner.
- Formulates and employs safe radiographic exposure factors and minimizes radiation dosage on each exam.
- Follow the safety steps required to perform their duties and be in compliance with medical, state and federal safety standards. They must be able to demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriately.
- Reviews images for high quality. Assist in performing QC, QA, QI or ACR as necessary.
- Cleans and maintains work areas.
- Maintains equipment use at center.
- Enhances professional growth and development through continuing education.
- Obtains and processes complete and accurate information to identify the patient and insure timely billing for services.
- Completes Registration process per registration protocol, if applicable
- Uses hospital and lab computer systems to enter patient information, order tests, receive specimens, and enter required radiology data.
- Communicates via phone and fax to physician’s office to obtain proper ICD-9 codes, ABN, and insurance information.
- Greets patients in a friendly way.
- Maintains and uses a variety of office equipment.
- Safeguards confidential information at all times
- Gives directions to patients on how to collect specimens.
- Performs waived tests.
- Collect urine drug screens following chain of custody.
- Performs routine radiology procedures as outlined in policy.
- Provides and maintains a safe environment for radiation protection to patients, peers, and self.
- Provides and maintains QA and QC for radiology department.
- Logs exam data entry pertaining to radiology procedure.
- Assures proper radiation technique and positioning factors.
- Demonstrates skill for patients of all ages.
- Performs other duties as needed.
Education, Credentials, Licenses:
- ARRT(R) registered
- KBMIRT Radiation Operator's License - Radiography
- CPR certified
Specialized Knowledge:
- Excellent understanding of radiation protection of patients, peers, and self.
Kind and Length of Experience:
- Adequate clinical experience from an approved program.
